He thinks the forward should move on.

Emmanuel Petit believes Marcus Rashford would thrive at Arsenal.

Rashford endured a poor season at Old Trafford, having previously notched 30 goals for Manchester United in his first campaign under Erik ten Hag.

United finished eighth in the Premier League and need to wait for the FA Cup final against Manchester City to see where their European ambitions lie.

Arsenal meanwhile qualified for the Champions League with a second-place finish in the league under Mikel Arteta.

Speaking to Boyle Sports, who offer the latest Euro 2024 betting , Petit drew a comparison with Kai Havertz and Rashford.

He said: “Listen, I know Kai Havertz has improved massively at Arsenal, but it’s difficult to say whether Arteta could do the same with Rashford if he moved to the club.

“However, I have no doubt that Rashford needs a new start and I think Arsenal could be perfect for him. We all know the quality of Rashford for what he’s done in years at Man United, but everyone questioned Havertz and his position when he moved from Chelsea.

“Would Rashford be good at Arsenal? Give me the paper, and let me sign it for him right now!

“Rashford in a good environment would be incredible for the Gunners as they all look miserable at United. I saw what happened with the fan and I understand his frustration, so if Rashford wants to leave, he’s more than welcome at Arsenal and the door is open for him.

“Havertz was in a strange environment at Chelsea and he wasn’t happy, but he has smiled at Arsenal and I can finally see his teeth - I want that for Rashford.”
