Evan Ferguson has grabbed many headlines since breaking into Brighton's side and he’s caught the eye of a former Arsenal Premier League winner.
Since impressing for the south coast club, Ferguson’s name has been linked to a number of clubs including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, but Emmanuel Petit believes Arsenal should be in the running for the Irish striker.
After watching the impact Erling Haaland has made at Manchester City, Petit thinks Ferguson could have a similar impact for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Currently operating with Gabriel Jesus in the central role, could a marksman like Ferguson be better suited and give Arsenal a better option in the nine position? Petit certainly likes the potential of the idea.
“Evan Ferguson could be that striker, why not? He's a very young guy and he's already a great goalscorer,” said Petit when speaking to Betway.
“He's doing well at Brighton so far. If I were him, I'd look at how the team is improving with De Zerbi, and I'd want to stay there for now.
“They're playing European football and aiming for the top-four. I think it could be a bit early to leave at the moment. I think Arsenal need a ready-made striker.”
