Rio Ferdinand admits he'd like to see Jadon Sancho top off his Borussia Dortmund turnaround by winning the Champions League.
The forward endured a difficult start to the campaign, where he fell out with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag and was made to train away from the first team. In January, he rejoined Dortmund on a loan deal until the end of the season, and it saw the 24-year-old rediscover his best form.
He could now end the season with a Champions League winners medal and Ferdinand told the Daily Mail he'd fully deserve it for what he's been through.
"I don't really want it for Dortmund - I don't care who wins it, to be honest. But for someone like Jadon, it would be great for young people to see you can go through a little bit of downturn in form and confidence, have to change the environment, etc. Be vilified at times, be on the receiving end of criticism, but then come out the other end and produce performances and get to a place where actually I can be successful over here now.
"It just shows if you've got that character and that resilience and that support, then anything is possible. But listen, he's playing against Real Madrid!"
