Robbie Savage believes Aston Villa will finish above Manchester United in the race to finish in the Premier League top four.
After United's defeat to Fulham last weekend, Erik ten Hag's side now trail Villa by eight points, with twelve games left of the season to go.
Although there is a chance fifth place may get Champions League football this season, Savage told Planet Sport Bet’s new podcast On Another Planet, that Spurs are the only side that could catch Unai Emery's men, and that questions will be raised over Ten Hag's job if he doesn't secure Champions League football.
“I thought Fulham were brilliant against Manchester United, I didn’t see it coming,” Savage said.
“Especially with the form United have been in, they had momentum and more of a settled team.
“There is now eight points in between Manchester United and those Champions League spots. That is a big margin and I would say that Aston Villa will finish above Manchester United this season. I’d say that the only team that could catch Aston Villa now would be Tottenham Hotspur.
“10 losses for Manchester United this season in the league isn’t good enough. If Manchester United can finish in the Champions League places and win the FA Cup, then I’d say that’s an acceptable season. If that doesn’t happen then I’d say there needs to be a conversation about whether Erik ten Hag is the right man for the job.”
