FIFA announced the host nations for the 2030 and 2034 World Cup tournaments on Wednesday, with seven countries sharing all or part of the hosting duties for the competitions.

Morocco, Portugal and Spain were named co-hosts for the 2030 edition, with one centenary match to tbe held in each of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia were appointed sole hosting duties for the 2034 tournament.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino told the Extraordinary FIFA Congress that unity is the underlying theme among the 2030 and 2034 FIFA World Cups.

“The FIFA World Cup is unique, and it is a unique catalyst as well for positive social change and unity because these tournaments, 2030, the celebration, 2034 – they are tournaments to unite, not to divide," Infantino said

"They are tournaments, of course, to discuss, to debate and to act. But most importantly, today, today is a day of unity and a day of celebration.

“Seven countries have won their World Cup today. Congratulations to Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Morocco, Portugal, Spain and Saudi Arabia. This is your day.”

The next men's FIFA World Cup will be held in North America in 2026, with the United States, Canada and Mexico sharing the hosting duties. Prior to that is FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which will be held entirely within the U.S. and will feature 32 clubs.
