Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero believes there are still positions the club need to improve while the summer transfer window is still open.
The defending Premier League champions have seen a number of key names leave including Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez, but City have also brought in some reinforcements with highly touted Rennes winger Jeremy Doku being the latest acquistion.
City's transfer dealings do not seem to have finished just yet with Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze and Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes being linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, however it will be a race against time to bring in one of these two players with the transfer window slamming shut on September 1.
Speaking exclusively to DAZN on behalf of Stake.com, Aguero assessed City's transfer business so far and identified where more reinforcements could be brought in during what will be another busy campaign for Pep Guardiola's side.
"We've witnessed significant player departures, with [Ilkay] Gundogan, Riyad [Mahrez], and Aymeric [Laporte] leaving, each having played crucial roles for City at different times. The additions of [Josko] Gvardiol and [Mateo] Kovacic are remarkable, and Cole Palmer's performance this season has been noteworthy," Aguero said.
"Additionally, the exciting news of Bernardo's contract renewal has lifted spirits. However, I believe the club should consider bringing in additional midfield and winger options.
"Seeing how other teams have strengthened their squads and considering City's busy tournament schedule, it's evident they require alternatives and rotation to maintain their performance level."
City return to Premier League action on Saturday when they welcome Fulham to the Etihad Stadium.
