Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has spent heavily again in the summer transfer window, as he looks to build on a League Cup win and a third-place Premier League finish last season.
Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount have joined from Inter Milan, Atalanta and Chelsea respectively, and there are rumours that Jean-Clair Todibo, Jonny Evans and Sofyan Amrabat could be added before the window closes.
However, players have gone in the other direction, with David de Gea, Anthony Elanga and Phil Jones all leaving, and Fred is expected to depart for Fenerbahce.
We look at three more players who could be on their way.
Harry Maguire
Maguire is reportedly close to leaving United for West Ham, where he would join up with former United boss, David Moyes.
West Ham have sold Declan Rice to Arsenal for an initial £100 million and they can afford to spend to improve the squad that won the Europa Conference League in Rice’s final game for the club.
A fee of £30m could be enough to persuade United to sell, if it means they can get the England defender’s wages off the books.
Scott McTominay
The midfielder has been a reliable presence but, like Fred, is perhaps not the required level to challenge for the biggest trophies and turn United into title challengers.
With Rice missing at West Ham, there are rumours of a double bid from West Ham, and he would make a sensible addition to most clubs in the Premier League. While he is not a world-class talent, he is a professional, and is an imposing figure in the middle of the pitch.
Anthony Martial
Martial managed 21 league appearances, 29 in all over the season, and added nine goals along the way. Given his struggles the previous season, both with United and on loan at Sevilla, it was something of an improvement.
But it wasn’t enough to stop Ten Hag going out to buy Hojlund as his main striker for next season, nor should it convince the manager that he will be ready if the Danish forward suffers an injury.
There have been precious few suggestions that United have received serious interest for the Frenchman, but surely they would be open to moving him on for a more resilient alternative.
