Wes Brown has suggested that Marcus Rashford's poor campaign has been due to his difficulty dealing with the pressure placed upon him.
Last season the England forward netted 30 goals for the Red Devils and was one of the stars of the campaign, but he's failed to live up to the form in 2023-24. So far, he's scored just seven goals and struggled for any kind of consistency in Erik ten Hag's side.
Speaking to instantcasio.com, former Man United defender Brown believes there's been a lot of pressure on Rashford this season, and his form has suffered because of it.
“Marcus Rashford’s not had a great season,” said Brown.
“Last season he was brilliant and you’d have thought that he’d carry it on, but it’s been difficult for him at times. I do think he’s a great player – we all saw what he can do against Manchester City, but he needs to do that more consistently.
"There’s been a lot of pressure on him this season and he’s not dealt with it that well.
“Manchester United have really struggled with scoring goals generally this season, whereas last season he was the one scoring goals and saving the team.
"He would have liked to have played better up until now, so hopefully he can pick himself up and start to score the goals again for the team to move forward, because they’re going to really need him in Rasmus Hojlund’s absence.”
