William Gallas believes that Mikel Arteta’s recent performances will intimidate their title rivals.
After Liverpool’s recent draw with Manchester City there is just one point between the top three, and there is no clear favourite going into the run-in.
However, Arteta’s men have just one defeat in their last 10 matches, and that was against Porto, who they knocked out of the Champions League in the return leg in midweek.
Speaking to Genting Casino, former Chelsea and Arsenal defender Gallas believes that run of form could scare any rivals and increase their own confidence.
He said: “Arsenal’s performances over the last eight games – scoring so many goals – that is the perfect way for the club and the players to build confidence and the belief that they can win the title. Those performances from Arsenal will be scaring their opponents in the title race.
“Arsenal have been blowing teams away recently and have shown a desire to keep scoring goals. They are on top of the league at the moment and they deserve to be there. They have sent a strong message to their title rivals and I think that Arsenal and Mikel Arteta’s players will believe that they can win the title this season.”
