Former Chelsea defender William Gallas thinks Mauricio Pochettino should be given two months of next season to rescue his job.
Pochettino took over at Stamford Bridge in the summer, and despite heavy transfer outlay from Todd Boehly, the club have continued to struggle.
They are almost certain to go without European football next season and they will have to recruit new players if they want to rebuild their squad.
Speaking to Gambling Zone, Gallas thinks that the Argentine should be given the chance to oversee the upcoming transfer window, and be given time to improve things next season.
He said: “I’m always a person who likes to give people a little bit more time, especially for managers in Pochettino’s position. For the players as well, because when you arrive at a club it takes time to adapt to a new club.
“But now, Pochettino I think maybe should be given a few more games next season to see how they will start the season to see how the season looks and what is going to happen. Then, if they have to sack him, then they will sack him.”
