Former Arsenal defender William Gallas believes Mikel Arteta should sign Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins.
Watkins was one of Unai Emery’s star men as the club secured a top-four finish, meaning there will be Champions League football at Villa Park for the coming season.
Arsenal came second in the previous campaign as they were pipped by Manchester City once more, and there has been speculation that they will add to their firepower, or perhaps let Gabriel Jesus go in favour of a new man.
Speaking to Lord Ping , Gallas picked out Watkins as a suitable candidate to lead the line at the Emirates Stadium.
He said: “For Arsenal, I like Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
“He has the pace you need to have as a striker and with a player like Martin Odegaard in behind him it would just be magnificent, think of all the assists.
“It’s so difficult to defend against players like Ollie Watkins because he’s so clever with his runs, with Odegaard they would do so much damage. If I was at Arsenal I’d choose him.”
