The United States are the most successful side in the history of women's football, and there's no reason to believe that they'll be slowing down any time soon.
As such, the Americans should be massively favoured to advance from Group E, which also contains the Netherlands, Portugal and Vietnam. The U.S. have won the World Cup four times and have finished no lower than third in every WWC to date. Since an uncharacteristic spell last fall in which they lost three straight games to European opposition, they've won eight consecutive matches in the lead-up to this tournament.
Needless to say, the rest of the group will almost certainly be playing for second place, and the Netherlands should have the inside track over the other two teams, who are both making their WWC debuts.
