AEW's first PPV offering lands this weekend as Revolution comes to us from San Francisco, California.
All eyes are on the main event as MJF has it all to do if he's to retain his world title against Bryan Danielson. Here, DAZN dissects the card and offers verdicts on all the big matches.
MJF vs. Bryan Danielson - 60-minute Iron Man match for the AEW World Championship
MJF faces Bryan Danielson in a match that favours the relentless technician, but this is all to boost MJF’s standing as someone who can go as well as anyone rather than just being a promo guy. This could finish a draw leaving MJF as champion and prolonging the feud, but the gut feeling is that the Long Island star beats Danielson at his own game.
DAZN Pick: MJF
The Gunns vs. The Acclaimed vs. Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal vs. Orange Cassidy and Danhausen - Four-way tag team match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship
AEW’s tag team division, recently the best in the wrestling industry, has looked a little shaky in recent weeks. The Gunns defeating The Acclaimed shocked many fans, but will AEW stick with them as champions? At this point, having The Gunns lose the belts so quickly could cause long-term damage to the team so perhaps their reign will be given more of a chance.
DAZN Pick: The Gunns
Jon Moxley vs. 'Hangman' Adam Page - Texas Deathmatch
A superb feud started by an unfortunate injury to Adam Page courtesy of Jon Moxley now culminates in a brutal manner as two former AEW world champions go at it. This match has the potential to steal the show but picking the winner is a difficult task. Let’s go with Hangman to return to the spotlight as Moxley takes a well-deserved rest.
DAZN Pick: Adam Page
Samoa Joe vs. Wardlow - singles match for the AEW TNT Championship
A battle of outstanding big men as Samoa Joe and Wardlow battle for the TNT title. Is Joe heading to the recently relaunched Ring of Honor? If so, then surely a Wardlow win is the way forward. If that result happens then Wardlow against Powerhouse Hobbs in the near future looks an exciting prospect.
DAZN Pick: Wardlow
Jungleboy Jack Perry vs. Christian Cage - No Holds Barred match
Christian Cage’s recent return as been a much welcome one as his outstanding verbal skills have elevated his lengthy feud with Jungleboy. The young star has enjoyed the rub of working with one of wrestling’s most natural heels and he can feel the benefit of this rivalry by defeating his former mentor.
DAZN Pick: Jungleboy Jack Perry
The Elite vs. House of Black - AEW Trios title match
Another match with show-stealing potential sees The Elite face a stern test against House of Black. Is this the right moment for The House to grab the Trios titles? If a bigger feud is potentially next for The Elite, then this could be the right time for them to drop the belts.
DAZN Pick: House of Black
Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Starks
This feud should've been over when Starks scored a recent win over Jericho on Dynamite but here we are weeks later on PPV. The right call is for Jericho to take the loss again, but the fact this match is taking place for a second time suggests that Starks isn't done with The JAS just yet.
DAZN Pick: Chris Jericho
Jamie Hayter vs. Ruby Soho vs. Saraya – AEW Women’s title match
An intriguing triple threat match that has been built well on television these last few weeks. There’re many directions that this battle could go in but with plenty of life left in the various rivalries involved in this one, the sensible call is for Hayter to retain by the skin of her teeth.
DAZN Pick: Jamie Hayter
