FTR vs. Young Bucks 3 at AEW All In - What happened in the first two matches?DAZN

It’s official. FTR will defend the AEW world tag team titles against The Young Bucks at All In at London’s Wembley Stadium on August 27.

Correctly identified as two of the best tag teams in the world, the groups will collide for a third time on AEW’s most grandest setting yet as they make their European debut.

The teams have a lengthy history stretching back to FTR’s first night in Tony Khan’s company and it’s set to come to a head in England’s capital later this month.

Here, DAZN looks at the first two meetings between AEW’s leading tag teams.

When was the first match between FTR and The Young Bucks?

After making their AEW debut in 2020, it appeared that FTR and The Young Bucks were on a collision course as they shared ring time together with both teams showing appreciation for each other.

After FTR defeated Kenny Omega and Adam Page to become AEW tag team champions, it was inevitable that The Young Bucks would want to settle the score on behalf of their Elite comrades. The dream match took place at Full Gear 2020, and it didn’t disappoint.

FTR paid tribute to a number of legendary tag teams including The Steiners and The Hart Foundation but with the match seemingly won, Cash Wheeler went a step too far and he paid the price as was super kicked by Matt Jackson.

This gave The Young Bucks the win and it was a vital victory as defeat would've prevented them from challenging for the world titles in future.

When was the second match between FTR and The Young Bucks?

On April 6, 2022, in the main event of a memorable Dynamite, FTR and The Young Bucks locked horns again.

The eagerly-anticptaed rematch was once again a well-received scorcher as both teams put it all on the line to prove who was the best tag team.

FTR had learnt their lesson from the first meeting and after riding a big wave of momentum in other promotions such as NJPW and AAA, they were able to exert further dominance in AEW by securing a win over their great rivals.

After using the BTE Trigger, The Young Bucks finisher, against them, FTR followed it up with the Big Rig to level the series.
