AEW Full Gear 2023 touted a total of seven title matches Saturday night.
Although MJF overcame an injury to defeat Jay White in his gutsiest AEW World Championship defense of all , there were champions that didn't leave the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif. with their titles in tow.
So, how many titles changed hands at AEW Full Gear 2023?
Two to be exact.
"Timeless" Toni Storm was able to conceal and finally use a metal object handed to her by Luther at just the right moment to defeat Hikaru Shida to become the new AEW Women's World Champion — a feat she has now accomplished for the third time.
Later during the TBS Championship Three-Way Match between champion Kris Statlander, Julia Hart and Skye Blue, Hart proved to be the most opportunistic of all. After Statlander wiped Blue out with the Saturday Night Fever, Hart shrewdly broke up the pin attempt and covered Blue herself for the pinfall to steal the TBS strap.
The other five world title matches, including MJF-Jay White, ended with the champions all retaining their hardware. Eddie Kingston defeated Jay Lethal soundly to retain the ROH World Championship, while the ROH title team of MJF and Samoa Joe defeated The Gunns as part of the Zero Hour pre-show.
On the actual pay-per-view main card, it took six Orange Punches and a Beach Break from Orange Cassidy to finally defeat a relentless, possessed Jon Moxley and retain the AEW International Championship.
Big Bill and Ricky Starks were also able to outlast FTR, LFI and the Kings of the Black Throne to retain the AEW Tag Team Championship in a thrilling four-way ladder match.
