The Undertaker faced many of wrestling’s greatest names, but he never shared a ring with Sting despite their careers running side by side for several years.
Once described as a wrestling dream match due to their dark personalities and each wrestler’s standing with their respective companies, WWE for Undertaker and Sting representing WCW, a bout between the pair was the pinnacle of fantasy booking for many wrestling fans.
When Sting finally did debut for WWE in 2014, it was Triple H in the opposite corner when he had his first match at Wrestlemania 31.
After feuding with The Authority and Seth Rollins throughout 2015, Sting’s future appearances would be limited before he made his AEW debut in 2020.
This meant no programme with The Undertaker but that hasn’t stopped the WWE legend from paying tribute to Sting as he prepares to retire from the business at AEW Revolution next year.
“I would love to say, Sting, congratulations man, on just a spectacular career,” said Undertaker when speaking to Bill Apter for Sportskeeda Wrestlebinge.
“I mean just one true icon of our industry. He’s done everything, and like I said just the longevity of that character, just well done, and congratulations. I hope retirement is everything that you want it to be, and you deserve everything you have.”
