The latest instalment of The Elite vs. Blackpool Combat Club rivalry took place on the May 10 Dynamite when Jon Moxley defeated Kenny Omega in a brutal cage match. The factions have been involved in a number of spats in recent weeks and the feud was elevated further during a bloody brawl that was eventually won by the BCC’s Moxley.
The action was fast and ferocious before the match even started as both men fought in the aisle, and were then joined by members of their respective groups. Once the action eventually got underway, it became a brutal brawl that included a barbed wire chair and Moxley pulling the ring apart to attack Omega frequently.
After surviving many onslaughts from Moxley, it appeared that Omega had the match won when he hit the one-winged angel. Before the referee could finish the count, Don Callis drove a screwdriver into the head of Omega, his close ally, and cost him the match. No explanation was given for his turn, but fans had been treated to a spectacular cage match.
With many expecting a classic encounter, the ranking for the match on Cagematch.net currently sees the match rated as the fourth best cage encounter of all time.
