On Sunday, the man who many consider the greatest professional wrestler of all time, Ric Flair, is set to return to the ring one final time at the event titled "Ric Flair's Last Match", from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn. And Flair is going out in style.
The main event features Flair and son-in-law, AEW star Andrade El Idolo taking on AEW star Jay Lethal, WWE Hall of Famer, and WWE executive Jeff Jarrett. Flair hasn't wrestled in a match since 2011 in Impact Wrestling.
“On July 31, I’m still going to walk that aisle and style and profile as only I can," Flair said when the event was officially announced. "But now, a bigger crowd, brighter lights! ‘The Nature Boy’ can’t wait to do what I do best. WOOOO!”
Andrade is Flair's son-in-law, as he's married to former WWE Women's champion Charlotte. Andrade is a former NXT Heavyweight Champion, former WWE United States Champion, IWGP Intercontinental Champion, and CMLL Universal Champion.
Lethal played a significant part in Flair's return. He helped Flair train for the last couple of months so he could be ready to walk the aisle one last time. Lethal is a former two-time Ring of Honor World Champion, two-time ROH World Television Champion, ROH Pure Champion, ROH World Tag Team Champion, six-time Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion, and former Impact Wrestling World Tag Team Champion.
Jarrett is a former four-time WCW Heavyweight Champion, three-time WCW United States Champion, six-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, former WWE Tag Team Champion, former WWE Tag Team Champion, and six-time NWA Heavyweight Champion.
