Becky Lynch owns one of the most impressive ring resumes in pro wrestling history. She's a five-time Women’s Champion, the first woman to hold both the RAW and SmackDown women’s titles simultaneously, the longest-reigning RAW Champion, a Triple Crown Champion and a Royal Rumble winner to name a few of her accolades.
But there’s a missing link to her career that “The Man” badly wants to amend.
“I’ve never won the Money in the Bank briefcase,” Lynch said on TODAY recently, alongside her husband Seth Rollins, before taking off to London to compete in the annual event Saturday night.
“I want it. I want it so bad. You have so much power with it. You can get a title opportunity at any time, at any moment.”
That’s when she joked about possibly cashing in the opportunity on Rollins, the newly-crowned World Heavyweight Champion.
“Your champion could be down and out … for example, Seth could be down and out, I could cash in on him if I want and then be the next champion,” Lynch said to her husband’s shock. “Not that I’m saying that I would do that, but I am The Man.”
Lynch will have the opportunity to claim the briefcase in the Women’s 2023 Money in the Bank Ladder Match, where she’ll clash with Zelina Vega, Zoey Stark, Bayley, Iyo Sky and Trish Stratus.
Rollins added about Lynch coveting the MITB green and gold briefcase: “She wants it.”
Meanwhile, the highly-anticipated event will also have Rollins defending his title against Finn Balor as the two add a chapter to their legendary rivalry.
