Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin, Wrestlemania 13, 1997 – 9.66 

In terms of match quality, the pinnacle for both Bret Hart and Steve Austin is their Wrestlemania 13 classic that saw the latter become an overnight sensation. The pair brawled from the outset and the bout was only ended when Austin passed out in Hart’s sharpshooter finisher. The match enhanced the legacy of both men and it’s still the benchmark for what a Wrestlemania classic should look like. 

CM Punk vs. John Cena, Money in the Bank, 2011 – 9.64 

A brilliant storyline that was intended to see CM Punk leave WWE with the world title saw him defeat John Cena in a classic match. The Chicago crowd in favour of Punk made an excellent cameo, but the efforts from both men ensured that bout delivered emphatically as Punk took the win, and the belt, in front of a stunned Vince McMahon. 

The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels, Wrestlemania 25, 2009 – 9.64 

Always a mesmerising moment whenever these two legends collide, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels added to each of their impressive catalogues with this stunning classic. The bout was so good that the pair went at it again in another great match that saw Michaels’ career come to an end as he failed end Undertaker’s streak on two occasions. 

The Dudley Boys vs. Edge and Christian vs. The Hardy Boys, Wrestlemania 17, 2001 – 9.59 

Using weapons galore, these tag team specialists provided wrestling fans with a spectacle that was fairly new to the WWE audience. Loaded with stunts and brutality, Edge and Christian’s victory over The Dudleys and The Hardys provided the WWE’s tag division with perhaps their most memorable era as it came close to stealing the show at arguably the greatest Wrestlemania. 

Chris Benoit vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels, Wrestlemania 20, 2004 – 9.58 

Three of the WWE’s veteran performers had no problem headlining the Wrestlemania 20 as they each aimed to stand out on the biggest show of the year. Each man played their part as a three-way classic satisfied a sold-out Madison Square Garden.
