WWE fans and critics alike had plenty to say about SummerSlam 2023 not having Becky Lynch, Trish Stratus, or Rhea Ripley on its card.
Each Superstar was seemingly let down as Ripley took to her X account Saturday and posted an upside-down smiley face over a SummerSlam promotional poster with her image on it.
Well, Paul "Triple H" Levesque, WWE's Chief Content Officer, took the time during his post-SummerSlam press conference to address the criticism over the event's booking, especially in relation to the women.
"I look at the women in WWE just like I look at the men in WWE, their talent, and it's irrelevant to me if they're female talent, male talent, doesn't matter to me," Levesque said.
"I put the same amount of thought, put the same amount of process and [I am] just looking for the things that are delivering in the moment."
Ripley is the reigning WWE Women's World Champion, while Lynch and Stratus are involved in a program together.
SummerSlam 2023 did feature a Triple Threat WWE Women's Championship match between Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair and Asuka and an MMA-rules pitting Ronda Rousey against Shayna Baszler.
