Seth Rollins was crowned the inaugral world heavyweight champion at WWE Night of Champions following a spirited win over AJ Styles.
In front a congested crowd inside the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia, Rollins provided a timely reminder of just how good he is and he’s now fully back amongst the main event picture.
The match opened the Night of Champions spectacular and both men, with a wealth of experience behind them, delivered impeccably.
In their first match since 2019, Rollins and Styles made a slow start as Rollins sought the approval of the audience but once Styles grabbed his attention, the contest soon upped its pace.
A suplex from Styles into the turnbuckle brought the first ‘This is awesome’ chant from the excited crowd but there was much more to come from the veteran pair.
With the contest approaching its climax, both men had huge opportunities to become champion, and after failing to put Styles away with the Pedigree, Rollins found the win shortly after with the Curb Stomp.
HHH, a multiple time world champion, joined Rollins in the ring moments after his victory to award him the new belt.
