Tyson Fury claimed to be the ‘gresstest heavyweight in my era’ following his win over Deontay Wilder on Saturday night.
The pair settled their trilogy rematch in Las Vegas as Wilder was stopped in the 11th round.
Following the win, BoxingScene.com reported that Fury told BT Sport: “100 percent. I’m now the greatest heavyweight in my era without a doubt.
“Number one, numero uno.”
Fury has now been linked with a mandatory defence in his next fight against the WBC’s interim champion, Dillian Whyte. Going by Fury’s statements in the aftermath, he would view the Briton as a step down.
“Look what I’ve done in my last [five] fights,” explained Fury.
“I fought the most devastating puncher in the history of our sport. Not once, not twice but three times. Danger, danger man.”
