Two heavyweights of the game go head to head as Netherlands and Argentina meet in the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Cup.
The teams topped their respective groups and both looked the better sides in their last-16 matches, although the Argentines had a late scare as a 77th-minute own goal allowed Australia back into the match after appearing down and out. The South Americans eventually saw the game out, winning 2-1 and putting to rest any notion of a historic upset.
Meanwhile, the Dutch were full value for their 3-1 victory over the United States, although they too allowed a late goal to heighten the drama. However, an 81st-minute Denzel Dumfries goal sealed the result for the Netherlands, setting up this match between two of the more impressive sides at Qatar 2022.
