The irritant is having an effect on the former champion.

Floyd Mayweather’s flash of anger is a rare lack of control, claims Mayweather Promotions CEO

As Jake Paul attempts to stimulate the synapses of Mayweather with repeated, annoying interjections - such as crashing his Clubhouse broadcast and taking his cap - Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe observed that it was unusual for anyone to have got under the legendary boxer’s skin.

Last month Jake Paul stole Mayweather’s cap to kick off an almighty stramash at a press event ahead of Mayweather’s fight with Logan Paul, which takes place on Sunday 6 June.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Ellerbe said he had not seen Mayweather fired up for so long.

"He was really p—ed. I haven't seen him that p—ed for quite some time," Ellerbe said.

"It was the disrespect of snatching his hat."

"Jake is not stupid," Ellerbe continued.

"Jake has become famous on the internet for bringing attention to that. That's what he does. You can't knock his hustle.

"But what he did on that day? It was disrespectful. You saw the reaction and it was justified."

Jake Paul yesterday confirmed that his next fight would be against former UFC champion Tyson Woodley.
