Joseph Parker believes that Tyson Fury ‘has too much’ for Dillian Whyte when the pair meet later this month.

Whyte challenges Fury for his WBC belt at Wembley Stadium on April 23, and the current champion has been training with Joseph Parker for several months as the pair prepare for their next respective fights.

For Fury that is his WBC mandatory Whyte, while Parker has been linked with Joe Joyce.

Joyce fought Whyte back in 2018, losing to the Briton four months after he had lost his WBO strap to Anthony Joshua.

Parker has bounced back with six consecutive wins as he looks for another shot at a title, though he has previously said he would not take on his friend Fury.

Speaking to <a href="https://twitter.com/frankwarren_tv/status/1513152167791714304" target="_blank">Frank Warren TV</a>, Parker gave his prediction, saying: “I feel [Fury] has too much for Whyte – size-wise, power-wise, strength.

“He can move, he can fight, and so I think he’s gonna get Whyte out of there in the first six rounds.

“Dillian’s got a very strong counter left hook. I got caught with it once and it put me down, so [Fury] has to be wary of that.

“But I think Tyson, overall, is too smart.”

Floyd Mayweather is happy to keep turning out for exhibition fights if it means he can keep his health and earn money.

The 45-year-old last fought professionally when he fought UFC champion Conor McGregor in 2017 to go out on a 50-0 unbeaten record.

He has since fought in a couple of exhibition fights, including a trip to Tokyo and most recently when he fought Logan Paul last summer.

The five-division champion has now announced he will fight Don Moore in another exhibition, this time on a helipad on a Dubai hotel. 

Speaking to <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBgNSWqzxN8" target="_blank">Intu Boxing</a>, Mayweather explained that he would continue to earn money if he felt the offers were right.

"See, they're upset because I'm able to milk the game. I'm smart, I've kept all my faculties, made a lot of smart investments," he said

"People like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, the Waltons, the people who Walmart and Walgreen... when they're getting money in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and even 90s, it's ok. 

“A young kid like myself from the inner city, the ghetto... I worked my way up to the top. I was able to leave boxing on my own terms and keep all my faculties and keep all my money.

"They're upset that I'm able to go out there and continue to make 40 and 50 and 60 million outside the ring. You can't get mad, this old guy won it."

Conor Benn is only focusing on the world scene despite admitting that he would have loved to have fought for the Lonsdale belt. The Essex fighter, one of boxing’s bright hopes, faces Chris van Heerden this weekend as he looks to make an emphatic statement before continuing is climb up the welterweight rankings. 

The fight, being shown exclusively live on <a href="https://www.dazn.com/home">DAZN</a>, is the latest in Benn’s rapid development from novice professional to legitimate contender. Since 2020, Benn’s progress has seen him make light work out of the likes of Sebastian Formella and Chris Algieri with those guiding his career bypassing the traditional title route and installing him in multiple governing body ratings. 

With the British belt currently being held by Ekow Essuman, Benn is undoubtedly operating at a higher class than domestic level. Although a number of intriguing fights are possible pitting Benn against a fellow Brit, the 25-year old’s focus is on bigger prizes as he looks to make a significant leap in 2022. 

“It would’ve been nice for me to win the British title,” said Benn during a sit-down with <a href="https://www.dazn.com/en-GB/news">DAZN</a> ahead of his battle with Van Heerden. “It was a belt I wanted for the family as my dad never got the chance to win it so it’s not like I’ve disregarded the British scene at all. That belt would've meant a lot to me and my dad so of course it would've been nice to win. 

“There was the chance to sort a fight out with Chris Jenkins a couple years back but that didn’t come off and when the Formella fight was made, that put me on a different path altogether. You can see now that I’m heading towards world level with the names I'm fighting and the way I’m beating them. A British title would've been nice, but the goal was always a world title and I’m getting very close to that.”

Natasha Jonas is aiming for a unification fight against Hannah Rankin in her home city of Liverpool.

The Merseyside fighter won the WBO super-welterweight championship when she defeated Christan Namus in February for the vacant belt, and is aiming to add more titles.

Scottish boxer Rankin became the WBA and IBO champion in November last year and is due to fight Alejandra Ayala in her own homecoming, fighting at the Glasgow Hydro Arena on May 13. If she beats her Mexican challenger then Jones hopes a unification clash can be agreed.

"We're waiting to see the outcome of her fight," Jonas told <a href="https://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/12585487/natasha-jonas-hopes-for-homecoming-unification-fight-against-hannah-rankin" target="_blank">Sky Sports</a>. "The ranking fight is a fight we both want, and we both believe we can win, so it's exciting times.

"The whole point of moving up the weight divisions was to give myself options and I do believe that I've got that now.

"I'd do it anywhere. The idea is to do it, maybe like a homecoming for me in Liverpool. She's having her homecoming for this fight in the Hydro Arena.

"But, I'm not really bothered where I have it to be honest. A fight is a fight, it doesn't make any difference.

"I've gone to people's backyards before, and it doesn't make any difference to me."

After two defeats when fighting for a title, Jonas finally won the WBO belt as she moved up the weight classes. The veteran is relieved to have got past that block.

"I don't think I'll ever tire of hearing that I'm a world champion; it's something I'd set my heart on," Jonas explained.

"I kept on promising myself I was good enough, telling myself I was good enough and telling the world I was good enough. I was just being beaten to the post and not making it.

"It's hard to keep doing that, picking yourself up and going for the next one when it's not happening. Luckily enough, I showed a bit of resilience, and I got the just rewards in the end."

Tyson Fury’s former trainer, Peter Fury, believes that Dillian Whyte can cause an upset against the WBC champion.

However Peter - also the fighter’s uncle - also believes that his nephew is the favourite going into the match-up.

Speaking to <a href="https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/1083544/" target="_blank">talkSPORT</a>, Fury explained that the current champion can beat anyone in the world, but warned against any potential complacency.

“I think he’s got enough to beat anybody,” he began.

“He’s definitely got a better skillset, he’s the bigger man.

“But look, you can’t underestimate any fighter.

“Dillian Whyte is a rough fighting man and he can bang as well.

“So it’s a good fight and definitely a must-see.

“It’s not a foregone conclusion, but if he uses his talents properly, doesn’t get carried away, he should come out with it.”

Fury returned to boxing in 2018 after mental health problems and other controversies, and moved on from his uncle Peter to Ben Davison and then SugarHill Steward. Steward’s guidance has taken him to two wins over Deontay Wilder, including his first-ever title defence.

The second is due to take place at Wembley Stadium on April 23, against Whyte, his WBC mandatory challenger.

The WBC champion's uncle is confidence his nephew will emerge victorious later this month.

Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez hopes to have Ryan Garcia three or four times this year after he defeated Emmanuel Tagoe.

The 23-year-old American came out of 15 months’ inactivity in Texas to defeat the experienced Ghanaian by unanimous decision, and seemed to have his rival close to a stoppage more than once.

The win puts fresh momentum into Garcia’s career after he had to take time away due to mental health concerns, and then had to pull out of a November comeback against JoJo Diaz due to a hand injury that required surgery.

Speaking to <a href="https://www.boxingscene.com/gbp-prez-wed-love-run-ryan-garcia-three-times-2022-four-perfect--165425" target="_blank">BoxingScene.com</a>, Gomez said “This kickstarts everything.

“Going into the fight, we needed to see if he would get an early knockout, if he went twelve tough rounds and then plan accordingly. He went twelve rounds but was barely marked up. He feels healthy and the important thing is that he’s back.

“Keeping him active would be great as long as he stays healthy. We’d love to run him three times in 2022. Four would be perfect.”

Garcia fought on January 2 to defeat Luke Campbell, elevating him to WBC interim champion, but before his failure to make his clash with Diaz, he had to duck out of a July match-up with Javier Fortuna.

The Californian has since swapped trainers after receiving criticism from Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, who had shared a trainer with him in Eddy Reynoso. Instead he is working with Joe Goossen, with Garcia saying after his win that he was comfortable with his new setup.

“He’s young, there’s not a mark on him. I don’t see why we can’t get him back out there ASAP,” Goossen continued. 

“We’re in an era where these guys just don’t fight very often. I know Ryan wants to change that, get back to fighting every few months and I’m here to help get him to where he needs to be. He’s 23, the hand’s healthy, he’s healthy. He’s ready to fight so I don’t see why we can't keep him active with the dates we have."

Former world champion Timothy Bradley believes that Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has all the advantages when he faces Gennadiy Golovkin for a third time.

Golovkin beat Ryoto Murata in nine rounds on Saturday in Japan, earning the WBA belt to add to his IBF strap.

As a result of the win he is expected to move up to 168lbs for a trilogy rematch with Canelo, who will move down from his fight with Dmitry Bivol at light heavyweight, in a fight shown live on <a href="https://www.dazn.com/en-GB/home" target="_blank">DAZN</a>. That extra weight, Bradley believes, will count against the 40-year-old Kazakhstan athlete. 

GGG was the clear victor but Murata did some damage with some body shots earlier in the fight, and with miles on the clock that might have shown Canelo the way forward.

"He’s going to mop up Golovkin,” Bradley told <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmSIJph1eH0" target="_blank">FightHype.com</a>. “I thought Golovkin looked terrible at the beginning and then closed strong at the end, which is good. It showed that he has great conditioning. He’s still able to fight. He still has some power, yeah. Punch placement, and I saw some good lateral movement from him. But Canelo is on another level, man, for Golovkin," 

"[Going to 168], that’s going to slow [Golovkin] down, I think that’s honestly going to slow him down. It’s a different animal [with Canelo]. It’s [Golovkin's] first fight at 168 pounds. Canelo has fought at that weight and 175. Come on, dog. 

“So, I see [Canelo] beating him and stopping him late. You saw it early on in his fight against Murata, Murata was going down to the body and pushing him back. That’s what Canelo is going to do. He’s going to press forward [against Golovkin].

"He’s a little more slippier than, a lot more slippier than Murata and he’s going to be landing his kill shots over the top, right hands, left hooks, whatever. He’s going to set him up. I think conditioning-wise, Canelo is at his peak right now, he’s fighting at his peak. I see him stopping [Golovkin], bro, and if he doesn’t stop him, he’s going to hurt him really badly in the later rounds for sure."

It's two wins in two races for Josef Newgarden, who earned his latest IndyCar victory at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on Sunday.

The 31-year-old thrust himself atop the 2022 driver's championship standings with Sunday's victory, which came after he started the race second on the grid. Newgarden was locked in a battle with Romain Grosjean and Alex Palou for much of the race, with both Grosjean and Palou going directly head-to-head with the eventual winner at different times during the latter stages.

Ultimately, Newgarden held off his opponents and took the checkered flag with a comfortable 1.2869-second lead over runner-up Grosjean — a virtual lifetime compared to the <a href="https://www.dazn.com/en-US/news/motorsport/josef-newgarden-edges-past-scott-maclaughin-to-win-texas-motor-speedway-indycar-in-fort-worth/ipfik7umdqn913dyktqw939rq">half-car length victory he claimed three weeks ago in Texas</a>.

"Man, this was a fight today," <a href="https://twitter.com/IndyCar/status/1513271801865940993">Newgarden told NBC Sports following the race</a>. "This was not an easy race to win. I don't know if it looked simple from the outside, but I was working my butt off with Grosjean there on the used reds. I was hoping he would fade off a little bit towards the end but just trying to hold him off on the restart was super difficult."

Sunday's win allowed Newgarden to leapfrog teammate Scott McLaughlin for the points lead, with third Team Penske member Will Power now sitting in fourth place. His two wins on the season means Newgarden has already matched his 2021 output just three races into the current campaign.

Manchester City and Liverpool met Sunday in a battle between first and second in the Premier League, and the match lived up to its considerable hype en route to a 2-2 draw.

With just a point separating the teams, both sides showed why they are the elite duo in England's top flight. City jumped out of the gates on the front foot, with Kevin De Bruyne scoring in the fifth minute of a frenetic opening half of play. Undeterred, Liverpool equalized through Diogo Jota eight minutes later following some fine work from Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Sky Blues would again grab a lead in the first half as Gabriel Jesus caught the entire Liverpool defence sleeping in the 36th minute.

However, the Reds once again found a leveller, this time just 45 seconds after the halftime break as Mo Salah's sublime line-splitting pass set Sadio Mané up for a straightforward finish past City goalkeeper Ederson.

The rest of the second half was nowhere near as high energy as the opening 45 minutes, but both teams still had good chances to grab a winner. The best opportunity came to Riyad Mahrez, who grazed the outside of the post with his free kick in stoppage time.

Tyson Fury has made a late change to his backroom team ahead of the title defence with Dillian Whyte.

Whyte challenges Fury for the WBC heavyweight championship later this month at Wembley Stadium under the guidance of trainer SugarHill Steward, who brought in Jacob ‘Stitch’ Duran as his cutman for his last two fights against Deontay Wilder.

However Duran will not be part of the corner team when Fury fights Whyte in his second-ever title defence, also the first time he has fought in the United Kingdom since 2018, with all three of his Wilder fights taking place in the US.

Fury has now called up Frank Hopkins, the hugely experienced 76-year-old who has worked the corner in more than 30 world title fights over the course of his career, and who has worked with Frank Warren - Fury’s co-promoter - plenty of times in the past.

Speaking to <a href="https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/other-sport/the-renowned-portsmouth-area-boxing-figure-who-will-form-part-of-tyson-furys-team-for-british-blockbuster-battle-with-dillian-whyte-at-sell-out-wembley-stadium-3634508" target="_blank">The News</a>, Hopkins confirmed his role, saying: "It's a massive, massive thing, it's really big, I can't wait to be a part of it.

"This fight is like nothing you've ever seen, I'm really looking forward to it.

"This would be like nothing you can imagine. Can you imagine, I'll be getting into the ring in front of a sell-out Wembley and he's got a cut on his forehead?"

Fury has reason to be concerned that he has the right man behind him to treat any cuts. Arguably the closest he came to defeat was in 2019 when he took on Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin.

While he emerged victorious, the Briton suffered a huge cut in the third round which left him on the defensive, and the injury was severe enough to put his first rematch with Wilder in doubt.

The WBC championship is on the line this April.

Mayer successful defended her IBF and WBO belts at super featherweight via unanimous decision after the fight went the distance

The 31-year-old American suffered a cut above her left eye in the first round but drew blood herself in the fourth round when she landed a straight left and a left hook on Han’s nose.

Mayer now boasts an undefeated 17-0 record and is keen to add more titles, with the WBC belt held by Alycia Baumgardner and the WBA strap in Hyun Mi Choi’s possession. However she also said she would move up to lightweight if needed.

"I've been pretty clear that I want to go undisputed at 130. Baumgardner and Choi, I've been calling them out," Mayer said to ESPN after the fight.

"I want that fight, but if they're not going to give me that fight in a timely fashion, I'm down, I'm game to go up and challenge the winner of Serrano versus Katie Taylor."

I feel like I did a lot of good things in there. Her movement, I think, is what she does best and it throws you off.

"She gets her spacing in a little bit, so I had to throw her off and stay behind the jab. Coach Al (Mitchell) reminded me to stay behind the jab, set the right hand up. She would duck sometimes and make me miss.

"I started to go to the body. All in all, she's a tough, durable girl. That's why we chose her for this fight. We knew she would push me, but I feel like I did well.

"I wanted to get the stoppage. I feel like I hurt her in the eighth round, almost finished her. This is another reason why I'm advocating for three-minute rounds."

Taylor fights Serrano live on <a href="https://www.dazn.com/home" target="_blank">DAZN</a> on April 30 at Madison Square Garden, New York.

Ryan Garcia praised his relationship with new coach Joe Goossen after he defeated Emmanuel Tagoe on Saturday night.

In a fight shown live on <a href="https://www.dazn.com/home" target="_blank">DAZN</a>, the 23-year-old American marked 15 months out of the ring with a commanding performance against the experienced Ghanaian.

The return also marked Garcia’s first fight since he left Eddy Reynoso’s gym as part of an apparently strained relationship with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, though Garcia maintains he has no hard feelings with the Mexican champion.

Goossen has taken over as his trainer and a unanimous decision suggested - for now at least - the switch has done no harm to the young contender.

Speaking to DAZN after the fight, the former interim WBC champion praised his opponent and his trainer.

“I got nothing but respect for Tagoe, he fought a hard fight,” he began. “Making it a little difficult for me. He was crafty with the holding and stuff.  He was moving a lot, I ain't gonna lie. It was a new experience, I’ve got to cut the ring off a little better with a guy who’s going to keep moving the whole 12 rounds.

“If I would have started pressing him hard earlier in the fight I would have got him out of there but it was a track-down fight. It’s a new experience, cutting down the ring with a guy who would fight to survive.

“He’s very slippery, so I had to walk him down. I was countering him with a lot of uppercuts but he didn't want that.”

Garcia said he expected further improvements to come with Goossen.

“I’ll learn more, I know I’ve got a lot in me,” he stated.

“It felt great, I was super comfortable with him. I love Joe, we’re very comfortable in the ring and we’ve got a great relationship. I’ve got nothing but love with him, he’s just the best guy.”

The lightweight made a winning return on DAZN on Saturday night.

Ryan Garcia refused to call for a fight with Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis after beating Emmanuel Tagoe live on DAZN on Saturday night.

The 23-year-old American made his return against the experienced Ghanaian after 15 months out of the ring and went the distance after having his opponent in trouble on a couple of occasions.

While it was not quite vintage Garcia, it hinted that he is well on his way to a real comeback following problems with his mental health and hand surgery which forced his exit from the sport for over a year.

In the past an ebullient Garcia has pushed for big name fights in the aftermath of victories, facetime and apparently agreeing a fight with Davis in the past and then promoting a fight with Manny Pacquiao. Neither bout came to fruition, and in speaking to Chris Mannix after the fight he responded to a suggestion that Tank was the logical opponent either in his next fight or the one after.

Garcia fought against Emmanuel Tagoe live on DAZN and will want to stay active after 15 months out of the ring, and while he has been linked with Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, it is fair to say that Diaz might offer a more gradual step up in quality, despite his own talents.

Diaz was in attendance for the Garcia vs. Tagoe fight on Saturday for DAZN, and after the fight was asked how he felt about taking on the 23-year-old contender. While he said he would be ready to make the fight, he cast doubt on Garcia’s mettle.

Putting Tagoe in his rearview mirror, Garcia has plenty of options for his next fight. So what route does the 23-year-old take?

<h2>Gervonta Davis</h2>

This is the fight to make by a country mile, and it's not even close.  
 
Garcia and Davis were in talks in 2021 to stage a megafight between two of the most prominent young stars in boxing. But instead, Garcia shifted his focus to try and face Manny Pacquiao. Once that didn't go anywhere, Garcia attempted to reignite talks, but Davis had already booked a fight with Mario Barrios.  
 
The timeline works out as Garcia fought on Saturday, and "Tank" returns on May 28 against Rolly Romero. A Davis victory and the fact he's talking about leaving Mayweather Promotions after the Romero bout makes it even more likely that the highly anticipated matchup could happen, which would make boxing fans rejoice.

<h2>Jo Jo Diaz</h2>

Diaz and Garcia were set to lock horns this past November, but the former suffered a broken wrist and had to undergo surgery. Diaz went on to face WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney at the beginning of December. Haney won an entertaining decision. Diaz's stock rose because of his spirited performance.  
 
Diaz was an analyst on the DAZN broadcast Saturday. He revealed he's coming back in July against an opponent that hasn't been announced. But if he gets the victory, he'd like to get the lost opportunity back from last year.

<h2>Vasiliy Lomachenko</h2>

Yes, I can already hear the chuckles. Then, of course, people will say, "What has Garcia done to deserve a crack at Lomachenko?" 
 
If Garcia doesn't face Davis and doesn't want to wait until the fall to take on Diaz if he wins his next fight, why not Lomachenko? 
 
Currently, Lomachenko is in his native Ukraine and helping out in their war against Russia. But if the war ends soon, Lomachenko will want to fight and would like to be in a marquee one since he was set to face unified lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr. until he bowed out because of the war.  
 
You want a big name at lightweight who is available? Look no farther than Garcia.

"The Towering Inferno" Sebastian Fundora found himself in a blaze against Erickson Lubin on Saturday night but brought enough fire to remain undefeated.

The six-foot-five Fundora scored a knockdown in the second round and Lubin returned the favor in the seventh. However, Fundora would rally enough to overwhelm Lubin in a lopsided ninth paving the way for Lubin's corner to stop the fight after the round. With the win at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Fundora (19-0-1, 13 KOs) remains undefeated and captured the WBC interim junior middleweight title. He now inches closer to facing the winner of the May 14th undisputed 154-pound championship rematch between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castaño.

“I think this was probably my best performance ever,” said Fundora in victory. “It was a back-and-forth fight. He really brought his hammer but I decided to bring my drill. The uppercut was landing like no other. The uppercut is my lucky punch."

Fundora earned the spot by striking first Saturday night. A barrage of punches, capped by a crunching uppercut, dropped Lubin with a thud during the second round as Fundora jumped up in jubilation.

But Lubin would battle back in the fire fight to score his own knockdown, which came on a monstrous left hook across the jaw, forcing Fundora to take a knee for the first time in his career.

“I got hit with a good punch and I didn’t feel like I needed to get hit again, so I took a knee to get a little breather in and I recovered,” Fundora said. 

It was a smart move as Fundora would recover his bearings enough to drown Lubin out with a barrage of punches in the ninth round, prompting Lubin's trainer Kevin Cunningham to stop the bout following the frame.

The fire fight had each boxer tasting the canvas.

SAN ANTONIO — One of the biggest questions heading into his highly anticipated return on Saturday was how Ryan Garcia would look against Emmanuel Tagoe. Would there be ring rust? How would his surgically repaired right hand hold up? 
 
Garcia showed no signs of being off for 15 months, and his right hand looked as good as ever as the 23-year-old dropped Tagoe in the second round and dominated until the final bell to win a lopsided decision (119-110, 119-110, 118-109) over the game native of Ghana in front of an announced crowd of 14,459 people at the Alamodome. DAZN News scored the fight 120-107 for Garcia.

</script> Garcia (22-0, 18 KOs) came out looking to put Tagoe away in the first round. He was pounding the body with his patented left hook and throwing the overhand right. Garcia nearly put him away in the second as he stopped him in his tracks with a right, and Tagoe held on. They came out of the clinch, and Garcia threw a short right that made Tagoe spin and drop to the canvas. As he was the theme for the remainder of the fight, Tagoe held on to survive.  
 
Garcia continued to assert his dominance and attempted to put Tagoe away. He kept stalking Tagoe, landing the left hook and the overhand right. But Tagoe showed a good chin and knew when to hold onto Garcia.  
 
There was one final chance for Garcia to close the show for the rabid crowd. During the 10th round, a right wobbled Tagoe into the ropes. Garcia went for it all but to Tagoe's credit, he grabbed and clung onto Garcia, who went 12 rounds for the first time. 
 
The obvious question now is what's next for Garcia? Plenty of talk has centered around a super fight between Garcia and Gervonta "Tank" Davis. However, Garcia didn't commit to that being his next outing because he doesn't want to disappoint the fans.  
 
"In the past, I'm always those callouts," Garcia said. "But, I've grown and matured, and I'm going to let my team handle it. When it's on, it's on. But as of right now, I'm going to trust my team, and we're going to move forward."

Alexander Volkanovski yelled "too f—ing good" into the camera following an absolute masterclass, and it was more than justified.

He had just detonated two massive right hands against "The Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung on top of three earlier lopsided rounds before referee Herb Dean brought the bout to a merciful end for a fourth-round TKO (punches). The rousing victory in the headliner of UFC 273 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla., on Saturday night, marked Volkanovski's 21st consecutive win and third straight title defense of his featherweight championship.

Alexander "The Great" closed out the evening with a warning to the rest of the division.

"Everybody in my division, I've been saying it for a while now, get your s—t together, earn that No. 1 spot, and you'll get it," he told Joe Rogan in the Octagon. "If not, you'll f—ing miss out. It's that simple."

Volkanovski seemingly grew stronger every round, setting the tone from the opening frame of his clinic with his hand speed as he repeatedly peppered Jung with a left jab that went unanswered.

The reigning champ unloaded two massive right hands to drop "The Korean Zombie" in a heap late in the third round as he further rained down on the veteran with punches. Dean or Jung's team could have stopped the bout then, but a bloody Jung carried on into the fourth only to take more abuse.

That's when Volkanovski landed a straight left hand followed by a crunching right hook to nearly knock "The Korean Zombie" out on his feet. Then came another right hand, and Dean had seen enough.

Prior to his caveat to the division, Volkanovski talked about waiting to see how the UFC will handle a possible trilogy bout between he and Max Holloway. That fight was supposed to occur last month before Holloway re-aggravated an injury.

Twitter reacts to Alexander Volkanovski's dominant win over The Korean Zombie at UFC 273

Aljamain Sterling vowed to Petr Yan that their rematch would be a different fight.

Well, it wasn't just talk. Sterling scored a pivotal takedown in each of the second and third rounds to help power a split-decision victory over Yan to be crowned the undisputed bantamweight champion of the world at UFC 273. Judges at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla. on Saturday night scored it 48-47 Sterling, 47-48 Yan and 48-47 Sterling to give him the close win in the co-main event of the pay-per-view.

This comes after Sterling called Yan a dirty fighter following Yan being disqualified for an illegal knee to the head of a downed Sterling in their first fight in March 2021.

Sterling showed Yan during their rematch that he could get funky too, changing the complexion of the bout with a big takedown and subsequent ground control in the second round for an arguable 10-8 frame. He repeat his takedown feat in the third. Altogether, Sterling posted eight minutes and 31 seconds of control time to help eke out the victory.

Yan fought back feverishly in the fourth round by opening the frame with a flurry of punches to drive the champion back and the two fought pretty evenly in the fifth and deciding round. But in the end, judges gave the nod to "Funk Master," who proceeded to shoot his shot to 50 Cent for an acting role on the television show "Power" and call out T.J. Dillashaw who flipped the champion the middle finger from the crowd.
