WWE Superstar LA Knight has admitted he'd love for Usher to be part of his WrestleMania entrance in Philadelphia.  
 
The Grammy award-winning artist performed at the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show last weekend and, as part of his act, sang his 2004 hit 'Yeah' to the sold-out Las Vegas crowd.

The phrase 'Yeah' is also Knight's catchphrase, and while appearing on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcpTwlV6Hi8">WWE's The Bump</a>, the panel floated the idea of Usher serenading him to the ring with that song at WrestleMania.  
 
In response, Knight seemed keen to link up with the RnB star, asking, “Wait a minute — can we get this set up? Is he coming to WrestleMania for my entrance, or what?"  
 
Before confirming, he wants the duet to happen by stating, “I’m coming out and doing it with him; let’s go!” 
 
Knight has his eyes on Seth Rollins at WrestleMania - which you can catch on <a href="https://imp.i305175.net/QOmeko">Peacock </a>in the US - and will compete for the chance to face Rollins on WWE's grandest stage when he steps into the Elimination Chamber at WWE's first-ever Premium Live Event in Australia later this month.

LA Knight open to performing song with grammy-winning artist at WrestleMania

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has named the two best players he's played with during his career.  
 
The Dane has shared the pitch with some top names for both Manchester United and his country, but it's two current Red Devils' stars he considers to be the very best.  
 
Speaking on <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@jdfootball/video/7335544491908025633?lang=en">JD Sports’ TikTok</a>, Hojlund was asked to name the best player he’s ever played with, and he couldn't make his mind up between two of his teammates.  
 
He gave the nod to United skipper Bruno Fernandes and his partner in attack Marcus Rashford as his favourite players to play alongside during his career so far. 

The 21-year-old said in response to the question: “Like in terms of ability? Probably Marcus or Bruno."  
 
After initially taking time to settle in the Premier League, Hojlund has found some red-hot form, scoring five in his last five games for the club and has netted eleven times in 29 games so far this season.

Rasmus Hojlund singles out two Manchester United stars as his best-ever teammates

Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes Mikel Arteta should sign Marcus Rashford, but only if he can improve mentally.

Rashford scored 30 goals last season for Erik ten Hag’s men, the best haul of his career, but in the Dutchman’s second season he has struggled to match that form.

The Manchester United forward has also been dropped from the side at times, most recently after a late night in Belfast saw him miss United’s FA Cup win against Newport County.

He has since returned to the starting line-up for United as they have put three consecutive wins together in the Premier League and put themselves in contention for a Europa League spot at the very least.

However, Arsenal have a better chance of winning the Premier League and they are almost certain to finish in the top four, and speaking to <a href="https://betway.com/en/sports/cat/soccer" target="_blank"> Betway </a> , Petit suggested if he can improve his mentality, the London club should make a move for him.

He said: “Marcus Rashford could be an excellent option for Arsenal, definitely. My only question mark would be on his mind and where he is mentally. 

“Last season, he played so well for weeks and weeks but this season it hasn’t been the same Marcus Rashford.

“I think he’s very sensitive and he must find a balance between his professional and private life - if he finds the balance he will be great again. 

“We all know his qualities and skills, but I’m wondering mentally if he can reach the standards of where he should be.

“He needs help to perform more often and he needs serenity from his agents. I heard from France that he’s been through difficult times privately. I was going through the same thing as a player, I could never be in good form if I wasn’t right in my private life.”

Emmanuel Petit tells Arsenal to sign Marcus Rashford if he makes one key change

Former Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has named Eden Hazard as the best-ever player he played alongside during his time with club.  
 

Cahill spent seven years at Stamford Bridge, winning two Premier League titles, two Europa Leagues, and the Champions League. Of all the superstars he lined up with, he credits Hazard's natural ability as why he was the very best. 

“When I look back at some of the squads I played in at Chelsea, sometimes I still have to pinch myself even now! They were all full of international stars and serial winners. I think Eden Hazard is the best player I played with when it comes to his natural ability." Cahill told <a href="https://www.parimatch.co.uk/en-gb/sports">Parimatch</a>. 

"He went out and just played with a smile on his face, almost as if he were just playing in the park with his mates. He could turn a game around by himself so he was definitely one of the best players I’ve ever played with.

“People would come to the stadium, whether they were home or away fans, and they were coming just to watch him play. That is the biggest amount of respect you can put on his name; people came to watch him play. Some of the things he did on the pitch were phenomenal. A lot of times he was playing on the left when I was on the left side of a back three and it was a joy for me. I would just give him the ball at every opportunity.”

Hazard played 352 times for Chelsea, scoring 110 goals and was named PFA Player of the Year in 2015 as he helped the Blues win the Premier League title. The Belgian left in 2019 to sign for Real Madrid and Cahill admits he was surprised the move never worked out for his former team-mate.  
 
Adding: “It is a shame and a surprise that things didn’t turn out the way he would’ve wanted them to at Real Madrid.

“When my dad used to come and watch me for Chelsea, he used to say that Hazard was one of those players that you’d pay to watch. He probably came to watch Eden rather than me to be honest!”

Gary Cahill names the best player he played with in his time at Chelsea

Louis Saha has warned Gareth Southgate that it is too early to bring Kobbie Mainoo to the Euros.

Euro 2024 takes place this summer and Mainoo’s emergence at Manchester United as one of their best performing players has led to speculation that England manager Southgate could conclude him in the national team squad.

Aged just 18, Mainoo has impressed former United striker Saha but he warned that the rate of development expected from the teenager, and the pressure he is under, should not be underestimated.

He told <a href="https://insights.betfred.com/newsroom/louis-saha-champions-league-qualification-is-achievable-for-manchester-united/" target="_blank">Betfred</a>: “It’s difficult to say who he compares to because he has his own style. I’m impressed by his composure considering how young he is. I think that kind of pressure, because a lot of people are asking for character in the midfield, especially with Casemiro now playing alongside him, he’s going to improve so much and very quickly, so it’s great for him. 

“He has to take it game by game without others asking too much of him because he has to be protected. The pressure is obviously on his back and it’s good for him, but he has to keep his cool and improve his game knowledge by playing games alongside Manchester United’s biggest players. 

“I’m sure Gareth Southgate is already looking at him but I think it’s too early for him to be seriously considered for the Euros as he has only played a handful of games. It doesn’t protect the young lad as sometimes things like this can damage young players and their capacity to grow and understand the game. Of course, Manchester United is a beast and it’s the best platform to jump into the national team straightaway, but it’s not that easy.

“We’ve seen what those things have done to the likes of Marcus Rashford, for example. When you are raising the roof at that age, it’s not easy to maintain that level because you have tremendous competition and pressure, so Kobbie has to take it step by step.”

One of the biggest matches of the weekend will be whoever Gunther defends his Intercontinental title against, as the Austrian looks to continue on his record-breaking 612-day reign with the belt.  
 
Here are five possible opponents for the Ring General at WrestleMania 40.

<h2>Bron Breakker </h2>

The NXT star put on an impressive performance during the Royal Rumble, where he apparently was given the 'Brock Lesnar' role following Lesnar being withdrawn from the match. Breakker is now being lined up for a big WrestleMania spot and could be the man who finally downs the Intercontinental champ. The son of legendary tag team champion Rick Steiner was the last person to beat Gunther back in NXT, so the story of Breakker being the champion's kryptonite could add an noteworthy angle, too

<h2>Chad Gable</h2>

Someone who's been in WWE for a long time now and after one of his most creative years in 2023 deserves his moment in the sun. Gable and Gunther have already clashed for the IC belt, with Gunther just about overcoming the Alpha Academy leader in one of Raw's best TV matches of last year. Getting his flowers on the grandest stage after finally overcoming the dominant champion would go down very well with the WWE Universe. 

<h2>LA Knight </h2>

Following the big return of Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes finishing his story with Roman Reigns, LA Knight's path to WrestleMania seems a little cloudier. The Megastar is still one of the most popular acts on the roster, and there have been some suggestions he may challenge Logan Paul for his US Title or could mix it up with AJ Styles in Philly. However, Knight being the one to finally defeat Gunther and earn his first championship has WrestleMania moment written all over it. 

<h2>Sami Zayn</h2>

It seems WWE is running with Zayn being the plucky underdog once again having lost out on his chance to challenge Seth Rollins for his World Heavyweight strap. With Zayn now looking for a new road to WrestleMania, could the man who main evented night one last year by winning the Tag Team Titles, get another chance to win gold by facing Gunther? It would be a crowd-pleaser for sure. 

<h2>Bronson Reed </h2>

Not a headline act, no, but there's a real 'WrestleMania' vibe to seeing Gunther face someone the size of the Australian. It would be an outside bet and probably mean Gunther retaining - which isn't out of the realms of possibility anyway - but it would be all about showing off the Austrian's strength and seeing him manhandle someone the size of Reed. Not likely, but if a multi-man match is on the cards, then it's something that Reed would likely be involved in.

WrestleMania: Five possible opponents for Intercontinental Champion Gunther

Liverpudlian MMA pioneer, Mick ‘The Huyton Hammer’ Stanton has signed for the biggest MMA promotion in Europe, OKTAGON MMA.

The former Cage Warriors middleweight world champion will make his debut at OKTAGON 56 in Birmingham, on April 20th against Kamil Wojciechowski.

Stanton (12-8) has been a fan favourite thanks to his never-say-die fighting style and underdog spirit. He takes on Poland’s, Kamil Wojciechowski (8-1) in what is a difficult promotional debut.

OKTAGON 56 will mark the promotion’s third visit to the UK, following successful shows in Manchester and Birmingham. The card will also feature UK stars, Aaron Aby, Shem Rock, George Staines, and Denis Frimpong.

Pavol Neruda, co-founder of <a href="https://oktagonmma.com/en/events/oktagon-56/?fightCard=true" target="_blank">OKTAGON MMA</a> commented: “The whole team feels so comfortable and happy in the UK. Something happened at OKTAGON 52, and there’s a magic bond with the UK and OKTAGON now, after the event in Newcastle everyone was out afterwards and just dancing and so happy with the event. The atmosphere was amazing and the people were so friendly as well.

“There were some big names of the sport there, and they said how they loved the production and how it looks. This means so much for us and we are just happy to entertain the people who watched.

“It really feels like we are at home now in the UK. Now it gives us so much positive energy for Birmingham and we want to carry that positivity on as well.

“We already have a full fight card, which normally doesn’t happen so far out from the event, but we have everything mapped out and strategised because we just cannot wait to go at it again.”

Oktagon confirms Liverpudlian MMA fighter for return to England

Savannah Marshall knows why the PFL signed her to fight in MMA.

Marshall has fought current PFL fighter Claressa Shields twice in the boxing ring. She has one win, in the amateurs, and then a loss when they met professionally.

Shields had already moved to MMA and has had a promising start to her career, with one defeat and one victory.

Crossover fighting, such as Francis Ngannou’s March 8 date to fight Anthony Joshua - is all the rage, and Deontay Wilder is mooted as one fighter who could move to PFL in the other direction, to meet Ngannou in the Smartcage.

Marshall told <a href="https://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/13071758/savannah-marshall-could-fight-claressa-shields-again-but-this-time-in-mixed-martial-arts" target="_blank">Sky Sports</a> she will be in attendance to research Shields’ capabilities in the cage.

"I'm going to be there cageside, having a look, sizing her up," she said, before admitting that PFL wants her for her rivalry with the American.

"I'm under no illusions why they've signed me. They haven't looked at me and thought she'll be a brilliant MMA fighter. They've signed me because there's potential for me to fight Claressa in the smartcage isn't there? That's why they've signed me."

"I come up short in the boxing so I want another stab, so why not in a new sport altogether.”

She also gave credit to Shields with her move into a new combat sport

"I really do. I'm interested to see how much she's come on," Marshall said. "I really want to see how she's improved if she has.

"For anyone to switch sports takes a lot of guts, especially from what she's achieved in her boxing career.

"She's striving for greatness, isn't she? So all the best to her and I think she's taken her speed over to PFL so I'm sure she'll do big things."

PFL signing Savannah Marshall says she knows why she was signed to MMA franchise

Unbeaten middleweight Jermall Charlo denied any knowledge of an agreement to fight Canelo Alvarez.

The WBC champion ended 29 months of inactivity when he returned to Las Vegas to secure a decision win against Jose Benavidez Jr., and he had been linked with a clash with Canelo before and since his brother Jermell came up in weight to lose to the Mexican last year.

The win was a convincing one for Canelo who had struggled with a hand injury in recent years, and there is speculation he will confirm Jermall as his opponent for his traditional Cinco de Mayo outing.

However, he denied any knowing the fight would go ahead.

“I haven’t even talked to Al Haymon since I last fought,” he said on Instagram, reporting <a href="https://www.boxingscene.com/jermall-charlo-refutes-claims-hes-set-face-canelo-alvarez-on-4--181433" target="_blank"> BoxingScene.com </a> . “Everyone is like ‘You about to fight Canelo’… ain’t no confirmation. I’m in the islands somewhere.

Jermall Charlo gives update on Canelo Alvarez fight speculation

WBC lightweight Champion Shakur Stevenson has reversed his decision to retire from boxing just one month after claiming he was hanging up his gloves.  
 
Last month, the American revealed on social media that he would stay in the gym and hone his craft but would no longer be fighting in the paid ranks. With many speculating, he called it quits shortly after learning about Emanuel Navarrete moving up to 135 and choosing to fight Denys Berinchyk instead of challenging him for his title.  
 
However, in a new post to his X account, Stevenson has announced his intention to return to the ring this summer, stating; “I’ll fight any and everybody, this is what I do. See y’all in June💪🏾 #ChasingGreatness,”

The 26-year-old doubled down on his comeback by adding a further explanation by <a href="https://twitter.com/ShakurStevenson/status/1757200261494296734">posting</a>; 

“I know right couldn’t keep myself away from it Love this s*** too much lol. I know right I’m wit u but that’s out of my control tho.. I can only handle what’s in my control, so see u in June!”

Stevenson has one more fight on his contract with Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, which is expected to be the fight in June he's referring to.

American fighter targets next fight after coming out of 'retirement.'

Shakur Stevenson makes u-turn on boxing retirement

Super middleweight fighter Edgar Berlanga is looking to force his way into a Cinco de Mayo fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

The fighter now has a 21-0 record but has failed to finish any of his opponents in the last five bouts after a perfect record in his first 16.

He’ll be taking on another unbeaten fighter, Padraig McCrory, on February 24 (<a href="https://www.dazn.com/home" target="_blank">live on DAZN.com</a>). 

McCrory has 18 wins and nine KOs, making Berlanga the slight favourite for now, and he told <a href="https://www.boxingscene.com/berlanga-aiming-showdown-with-canelo-i-open-his-eyes-with-statement-win-vs-mccrory--181428" target="_blank">BoxingScene.com</a> that he hopes an impressive performance will tee him up for a May bout with Canelo.

“That'll be perfect, [a Cinco De Mayo fight against Alvarez], because I'll just be coming off a beautiful win,” he said. 

“I just feel that I have to perform and really make a statement in my next fight so I can open [Alvarez’s] eyes and he likes what he sees because right now he's the boss at 168. He makes the moves. He's the money man at 168. He can do whatever he wants to do if he feels like it. You can't take that away from him. He paid his dues to get to that point and pick and choose who he wants to fight. Once I make a statement I can call him out. Besides [David] Benavidez I don't think there is a bigger fight out there for him.”

The 33-year-old Mexican, undisputed at 168lbs, is facing some criticism after failing to reach his previous peaks, but Berlanga still sees a quality fighter.

“He's still one of the top fighters in the world, one hundred percent,” said Berlanga. “He has a lot of wear and tear but he's in there fighting with the best for a long time. He still has all of the titles and he's still selling out arenas and making it happen.”

Manchester United's season has been a rollercoaster, with players coming in and out of the team due to injuries, loss of form and various other reasons.

The search for consistency is one of Erik ten Hag's most important challenges as manager, and there may be no more important area of the pitch to seek consistent performances than in the defence.

The team have allowed 33 goals through 24 league matches so far, which is a decent output but it can be improved upon. One way to bolster the defence is to find a steady centre-back partnership, and one former Man United player believes he has identified the two players that should play together as much as possible as the Red Devils chase a European berth.

Louis Saha, who played for United in the mid-2000s, spoke to <a href="https://insights.betfred.com/newsroom/louis-saha-champions-league-qualification-is-achievable-for-manchester-united/">Betfred</a> on the issue and he has placed his confidence behind a pair of defenders to lead the line.

“Erik ten Hag has had to contend with a lot of injuries this season and it’s been difficult for him to build his defensive foundation because of this," Saha said.

"It’s very important to have a solid defensive foundation to take control of a game and in my view, [Lisandro] Martínez and [Raphaël] Varane have always looked like the most complimentary centre-back partnership for Manchester United."

Saha also stressed that while he believes Martinez and Varane are the top duo at Ten Hag's disposal, it's imperative that United foster the kind of depth in the position that will allow for the team to compete on multiple fronts.

“If you want to win a league title or go far in the Champions League, then you always need to have four centre-backs that are really good and when I was at Manchester United, it wasn’t always about [Rio] Ferdinand and [Nemanja] Vidić because there was also the likes of [Mikaël] Silvestre and Wes Brown.

"You need to find a way to rotate to give confidence to all the players, so you need to find the right moments to give all the players a chance to perform.  

“This is the challenge for Erik ten Hag. Even when you look at Victor [Lindelöf], he’s been reliable when he’s come into the side and he’s a really strong defender that I like a lot.

"Harry Maguire putting in a man of the match performance on Sunday, despite not playing all the time this year, was enormous because he showed great spirit, his commitment and this is essential for anybody playing for the club.

"It’s very important to have these sorts of leaders in the squad.”

Michael Spinks caused a sensational shock in the 1980s when he moved from 175lbs to heavyweight and defeated Larry Holmes to become world champion.  

Spinks repeated the result in an immediate rematch but who was the most defensive fighter that Spinks came up against? 

An Olympic gold medallist in 1976, Spinks joined the pro ranks and became one of the greatest light-heavyweights of all time.  

After moving to the land of the giants, Spinks would have further success but that all ended when he suffered his only career loss in 1988 when he was stopped in one round by Mike Tyson. 

Despite sharing the ring with both Holmes and Tyson, Spinks doesn't consider either man as the opponent he faced with the best defence. 

That honour goes to Dwight Muhammad Qawi who Spinks defeated in 1983. 

“Maybe Dwight. He was so close to the ground,” said Spinks when speaking to<a href="https://www.ringtv.com/597330-best-i-faced-michael-spinks/"> The Ring</a> in 2016.

Eddie Hearn has provided the four names that make up his Mount Rushmore of boxing and Anthony Joshua makes the cut.  

Hearn has been promoting in boxing for just over a decade, but with his father promoting fights since the 1980s, Hearn has been around the sport a lot longer than when he first entered boxing. 

His relationship with Joshua can be traced back to the Watford man’s amateur days when he won an Olympic gold in 2012.  

Since then, Hearn has guided Joshua to two world titles with impressive wins over the likes of Dillian Whyte, Wladimir Klitschko, and Andy Ruiz. Joshua is one of names on Hearn’s list.

Alen Babic will return to action for the first time in 11 months when he faces Steve Robinson on March 31st in London.  

The bout will take place on the undercard of Fabio Wardley’s British heavyweight title defence against Frazer Clarke, and it will see Babic aim to rebound from the only loss of his career. 

Last April, Babic was blasted in one round by Poland’s Lukasz Rozanski after making a promising to his professional career with a number of highlight reel stoppages.  

Babic will be eager to get back into the title picture following his loss to Rozanski when he was competing for bridgerweight honours, and victory over Robinson can get him closer. 

Babic was a big deal with British fight fans when climbing the rankings and his supporters will be hoping that he can get back to winnings ways next month.

Entertaining heavyweight attraction set to return to action next month

Former Premier League boss Gordon Strachan has hailed Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou and the impact he's made since being appointed manager at the North London club. 

Strachan got to know the Australian during his spell in charge of Celtic and has praised the 'wonderful mayhem' he's brought to the Premier League.  
 
“The Premier League is the most watched football league in the world, but Ange has added to the spectacle," Strachan told <a href="https://www.lordping.co.uk/blog/opinions/gordon-strachan-opinions/">Lord Ping</a>. 

"He has put even more attention on the league through the football that his Tottenham side are playing, which can only be a good thing. It’s a style that can be best described as wonderful mayhem. It’s so fantastic to watch when good players buy into it. There is never a dull moment in Tottenham’s games.” 
 
Strachan, who managed Coventry and Southampton in the Premier League, also praised Postecoglou's tactical approach and how it will help Tottenham have a strong second half of the season - now they have a full squad to choose from. 

"The good thing about them is the style. Ange may have better players to pick from now than he did last month, but the style will remain. The funny thing is that Spurs scored in the ninety-sixth minute on Saturday and won the game, the previous match, they conceded in the ninety-fourth minute and dropped points at Everton.

“People will always question a manager's tactics. After that Everton result, I’m sure some people would have been furious that he didn’t sit back and defend or closed the game off by playing a more pragmatic style. 

“You have to admire his commitment to his playing style and football philosophy. His approach is 'this is how we’re playing, whatever happens, happens.' That takes an enormous amount of mental strength to do that as a manager and we love him for it. 

“I expect the club to keep moving forward for the second period of the season. Ange will have Bissouma back, who immediately improves the quality of the Tottenham midfield. Maddison is coming back to his best. It is all looking good for Ange and Tottenham.”

James Milner is still going strong with Brighton as he closes in on the all-time Premier League appearance record.

In goal, the now 38-year-old has opted for Alisson Becker and the back four protecting him is Trent Alexander Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk, Jonathan Woodgate, and Ashley Cole. 

In midfield, Milner hasn't chosen himself, but you get the feeling he’ll be fine with that as David Silva, Steven Gerrard, and Frank Lampard look to run the show. 

Up front, the golas will be provided by a terrific trio with Alan Shearer, Sergio Aguero, and Roberto Firmino responsible for the team’s attacking play. 

On Gerrard, Milner added, “The best all-round footballer I’ve ever played with: left foot, right foot, heading, shooting, defending. It’s scary to think about it, as you could have played him anywhere and he would have excelled.”

The MMA world was sent into a frenzy at the end of 2023 when Conor McGregor announced his return to the UFC. 

In a post on social media, the Irishman revealed that he would be making a return on June 29 during International Fight Week against Michael Chandler. 

However, UFC President Dana White has since said that McGregor will now fight in the autumn and when explaining the reason for the delay, White said it was as a result of the broken tibia McGregor suffered in his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier three years ago at UFC 264. 

“First of all, he is coming back from one of the nastiest injuries you can come back from,” White said in an interview with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46F6Y_LgKhA">Kevin Iole</a>. 

“How long was Anderson Silva out when he did it? How long was Chris Weidman out when he did it? The guys who break that bone (are out a long time), so that’s an issue right there, No. 1. No. 2 is, Conor McGregor doesn’t need the f—g money.

"So when you don’t need the money, it’s not as easy. Khabib (Nurmagomedov) doesn’t need the money – Khabib retired.”

White also cited the vast business empire McGregor has built as another possible reason for his delay when it comes to returning to the Octagon. 

"Only Conor knows (when he’s ready),” White continued.

“These are questions for Conor McGregor, not me. I know he’s training. I don’t know what level of training he’s doing. I don’t know what level of kicking he’s doing right now. I don’t know any of that stuff.

"I need to know the guy’s in a full camp and he’s ready to go. Conor McGregor has a movie coming out. He’s got businesses that he’s built. It’s a completely different dynamic when you’re dealing with a guy that has this kind of money.”
