It has been a campaign to forget for the Cleveland Browns this season, with the team toting a 3-12 record to date and a potential sea change at running back on the cards.
For the past half-decade, the Ohio outfit have built their rushing power around Nick Chubb, arguably their standout performer of the last few years before injury took its toll.

As speculation over free agency and a future elsewhere mounts before the new year, DAZN takes a look at the 29-year-old's career so far, and what could come next.
What was Chubb's collegiate career?
Named for his ancestor, one of several brothers who founded Chubbtown in Georgia, Chubb was born in December 1995 and made his name as a two-sport star at school.
A gifted track athlete, he ultimately chose football at the University of Georgia and immediately staked a claim as a future pro star with an electrifying freshman campaign.
A knee injury in his sophomore year saw him rebound to finish his collegiate career as the second all-time leading rusher in their history, trailing only Herschel Walker.
What was Chubb's early NFL career?
Drafted 35th in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Browns, Chubb was not the first man in his position picked, but he quickly proved his worth in a debut term.
Replacing Carlos Hyde after a midseason trade, he finished the year with nearly 1,000 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, including a 92-yard sprint against Atlanta.
He continued to grow from there, recording four-figures for rushing the following four seasons, topping out with 1,525 yards and a dozen touchdowns in 2022.
How has Chubb fared this season?
A torn MCL suffered two weeks into the 2023 season kept Chubb sidelined into the start of this campaign, and he had to wait until late October for his season debut.
He scored a rushing touchdown in his first game for more than a year against the Cincinnati Bengals, and then rushed for 59 yards and two TDs against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But further strife was to come in Week 15, when he suffered a season-ending broken foot against the Kansas City Chiefs, to compound a tough term for the Browns.
What's next for Chubb?
With no postseason football in Ohio after a difficult campaign, there is plenty of speculation mounting over what the future holds for the running back beyond this year.
Chubb has made no secret of his desire to stay with the Browns, and as one of their most popular players, it would seem a no-brainer for him to be retained too.
But the front office may have different ideas over where to spend their money. If Chubb enters free agency, then there will be no shortage of interested suitors in his services.
