2025 NFL Draft order: Key picks for each teamDAZN

The NFL draft order of the six losing teams in the Wild Card round of the 2024 playoffs has been determined, meaning 1-24 are now in place.

The 2025 draft will take place April 24-26 and will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

DAZN News breaks down the current draft order and each team’s most glaring positional needs.

1.Tennessee Titans, 3-14 record

Biggest need: Quarterback

The Titans received the first overall pick in the draft in Week 18 following their loss to the Houston Texans and the New England Patriots victory over the Buffalo Bills.

Owning this pick presents the Titans with the opportunity to find a replacement for Will Levis, whom they appeared to lose patience with at the end of the season.

2.Cleveland Browns, 3-14 record

Biggest need: Quarterback or Offensive tackle

The Browns struggled to find consistency at quarterback. Expectations were high for Deshaun Watson, but he started poorly before suffering an injury.

The Browns' predicament is that Watson’s Achilles injury will likely mean he misses part of 2025, yet his contract is fully guaranteed.

Even so, the opportunity to find their future quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft may be too good to pass up.

3.New York Giants, 3-14 record

Biggest need: Quarterback

The Giants considered drafting a quarterback in the 2024 Draft before opting to stick with Daniel Jones, whom they had signed to a four-year, $160 million extension in 2023.

They came to regret that decision after losing patience with Jones following a five-game losing streak, and they will surely address the position this offseason.

4.New England Patriots, 4-13 record

Biggest need: Offensive Tackle

The Patriots selected Drake Maye third overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he demonstrated the potential to become a franchise quarterback.

Unfortunately, Demontrey Jacobs and Vederian Lowe's performances were subpar, and the Patriots must upgrade the position to protect Maye better in 2025 and beyond.

5.Jacksonville Jaguars, 4-13 record

Biggest need: Cornerback

The Jaguars have several roster holes that they need to address, especially in their secondary.

They may deem it prudent to address the safety position in free agency and spend their draft capital on one of the premier cornerbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

6.Las Vegas Raiders, 4-13 record

Biggest need: Quarterback

The Raiders franchise may feel aggrieved with Antonio Pierce, as back-to-back wins against the Jaguars in Week 16 and the New Orleans in Week 17 saw them fall to sixth in the draft order.

Depending on their view of the top quarterbacks in the class, they may explore options to move up in the draft or find a stop-gap option in free agency.

7.New York Jets, 5-12 record

Biggest need: Quarterback

The Jets are in the unenviable position of having a 41-year-old quarterback whose play is in decline, combined with a 2024 NFL Draft selection behind that of several other quarterback-needy teams.

Even if Sam Darnold and Russell Wilson hit free agency, the Jets are unlikely to be in contention due to limited cap space.

Much hinges on whether Aaron Rodgers returns in 2025. If he does, the Jets may delay finding their next franchise quarterback until the 2026 NFL Draft.

8.Carolina Panthers, 5-12 record

Biggest need: Edge rusher

The Panthers traded Brian Burns in free agency last year. They struggled to generate a consistent pass rush in his absence and finished 29th among all teams in total sacks.

They should use the 2024 NFL Draft to find Burns’ long-term replacement.

9.New Orleans Saints, 5-12 record

Biggest need: Edge rusher

The interior of the Saints’ defensive line appears in good hands following the emergence of sophomore defensive tackle Bryan Bresee.

However, they need reinforcements at edge rusher. Chase Young is set to become a free agent, and Cameron Jordan’s effectiveness has deteriorated in recent years.

A case could also be made for finding an offensive tackle to replace Trevor Penning.

10.Chicago Bears, 5-12 record

Biggest need: Offensive line

The Bears must find a way to better protect Caleb Williams in 2025.

Left tackle Braxton Jones and left guard Teven Jenkins showed they belong, but Jenkins and center Coleman Shelton are set to become free agents.

11.San Francisco 49ers, 6-11 record

Biggest need: Cornerback

If the team does not extend Dre Greenlaw, addressing the linebacker position should be a priority. However, recent history demonstrates that teams prefer not to invest first-round draft capital in off-ball linebackers.

Selecting a cornerback to replace Charvarius Ward if he leaves in free agency may be their preferred move.

12.Dallas Cowboys, 7-10 record

Biggest need: Guard

At 34 years old, future Hall of Fame guard Zack Martin may retire following a severe ankle injury.

is departure would leave a gaping hole in the heart of the Cowboys’ offensive line. Finding a replacement for Martin should be a priority.

13.Miami Dolphins, 8-9 record

Biggest need: Interior offensive line

The interior of the Dolphins’ offensive line played poorly in 2024, and right guard Liam Eichenberg is also set to become a free agent.

The Dolphins would be wise to draft a guard with the potential to protect quarterback Tua Tagovailoa better than the options currently on their roster.

14.Indianapolis Colts, 8-9 record

Biggest need: Center or linebacker

Ryan Kelly has been the Colts starting center for nine years but is set to become a free agent in 2025.

The Colts selected Tanor Bortolini in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he is still an unknown quantity after starting only five games this season.

They may opt to upgrade the position if one of the premier centers is available at their pick. Linebacker E.J.

Speed would be a significant loss if he were allowed to leave in free agency, and the Colts may not be ready to turn to Jaylon Carlies as Speed’s replacement.

15.Atlanta Falcons, 8-9 record

Biggest need: Edge rusher

The Falcons’ pass rush improved toward the end of the season, primarily due to Arnold Ebiketie’s improved play.

However, if Matthew Judon is allowed to test free agency, they must find a replacement. In 2024, they finished 31st among all teams with only 31 sacks.

16.Arizona Cardinals, 8-9 record

Biggest need: Edge rusher or interior defensive line

The Cardinals are in dire need of a pass rusher with the potential to record double-digit sacks consistently. They hoped Zaven Collins would be that guy, but he has failed to record more than six sacks since converting from linebacker.

They will also lack depth if Dennis Gardeck and Baron Browning are allowed to leave.

17.Cincinnati Bengals, 9-8 record

Biggest need: Wide receiver or guard

It is unclear if Tee Higgins will receive the extension he deserves. He was franchise-tagged last season but wants a long-term deal this year.

Andre Iosivias was a capable depth player at receiver, and Jerome Burton may yet emerge as a solid option. However, if an opportunity presents itself where the Bengals can find value, they may pull the trigger.

An upgrade at guard would not go amiss, as Alex Cappa and Cordell Volson allowed 94 pressures and 14 sacks between them.

18.Seattle Seahawks, 10-7 record

Biggest need: Offensive line

Geno Smith was sacked 50 times in 2024, the fourth-most among all NFL quarterbacks. Charles Cross was the only Seahawks offensive lineman who acquitted himself well in 2024.

Upgrading multiple spots along the offensive line is a must ahead of 2025.

19.Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 10-7 record

Biggest need: Wide receiver

Jalen McMillan looks set to become a mainstay at the wide receiver position for the Buccaneers.

Still, if the team were to part ways with pending free agents Mike Evans and Chris Godwin in the offseason, they would quickly find themselves short-handed.

A case could also be made to address the linebacker position if Lavonte David were to retire.

20.Denver Broncos, 10-7 record

Biggest need: Linebacker or tight end

Cody Barton and Justin Strnad led the Broncos linebackers in snaps following the injury to Alex Singleton.

Unfortunately, Barton and Strnad are one of the few weaknesses on an otherwise excellent defense, and Singleton will be 32 years old later this year.

Singleton looks set to reprise his starting role in 2025, but adding a young linebacker should be a priority. A capable receiving tight end would also greatly benefit the Broncos’ offense.

21.Pittsburgh Steelers, 10-7 record

Biggest need: Quarterback or wide receiver

The Steelers' need for a quarterback depends on whether they sign Russell Wilson or Justin Fields to an extension.

Finding a talented young receiver to play opposite George Pickens could also be appealing.

Calvin Austin showed he could handle the slot receiver role, but neither Mike Williams nor Van Jefferson played well enough on the outside.

22.Los Angeles Chargers, 11-6 record

Biggest need: Cornerback or edge rusher

Khalil Mack and Asante Samuel are set to become free agents. The Chargers have depth players capable of playing more prominent roles in their absence.

Still, they must prioritise getting younger at the edge position and finding a cornerback to improve the unit’s pass coverage in a division comprising Patrick Mahomes and Bo Nix.

23.Green Bay Packers, 11-6 record

Biggest need: Cornerback or edge rusher

Jaire Alexander is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, but his absence due to injury exposed a weakness in the depth behind him.

It will further compound the issue if Eric Stokes leaves in free agency. Rashan Gary had a poor year by his standards at the edge rusher spot, and Lukas Van Ness’s progression has been slower than ideal.

24.Minnesota Vikings, 14-3 record

Biggest need: Interior offensive line or cornerback

The Vikings’ offensive line was embarrassed by the Rams in the Wild Card game, but they were missing Christian Darrisaw at left tackle, and Brian O’Neill had an unusually poor game at right tackle.

Dalton Risner is solid at right guard, but left guard Blake Brandel and center Garrett Bradbury should be upgraded at the first available opportunity.

The cornerback position must be addressed if Byron Murphy and Stephon Gilmore are allowed to leave in free agency.

25-32

This article will be updated once the draft order has been determined for the remaining teams in playoff contention.

The teams still in the playoffs and to confirm their draft order are Los Angeles Rams (10-7); Washington Commanders (12-5); Baltimore Ravens (12-5); Buffalo Bills (13-4); Philadelphia Eagles (14-3); Kansas City Chiefs (15-2); Detroit Lions (15-2).

How is the NFL draft decided?

The draft order is determined by the following procedures:

  • The winner of the Super Bowl game selects last and the loser selects next-to-last in all rounds, regardless of the record of the clubs in the regular season.
  • The losers of the Conference Championship games select 29th and 30th in all rounds, according to the reverse order of their standing.
  • The losers of the Divisional Playoffs select 25th through 28th in all rounds, according to the reverse order of their standing.
  • The losers of the Wild Card games select 19th through 24th in all rounds, according to the reverse order of their standing.
  • Clubs not participating in the playoffs select in the first through 18th positions in all rounds, according to the reverse order of their standing.
