21 games and counting: The streak that Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa extended during win over Commanders

Tua Tagovailoa's touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill in the first quarter of the Miami Dolphins' 45-15 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday extended a streak that the quarterback started last season.

The Tua-Tyreek connection means that Tagovailoa has completed a touchdown pass in 21 consecutive games.

It's an impressive run for the 25-year-old, who owns the longest active streak of games with at least one TD pass in the NFL.

But while Tagovailoa's continued production has been noteworthy for the Dolphins' pivot, it's still far off the best streaks of all time.

Drew Brees famously set the mark for consecutive games with a passing TD back in 2012 when he eclipsed previous record-holder Johnny Unitas, with Brees completing a touchdown pass in 54 straight games.

Less than a year later, none other than Tom Brady also surpsassed Unitas' record of 47, falling just two games short of Brees' milestone with 52. Not to be outdone, Peyton Manning put himself into the conversation with a 51-game streak that ended in Nov. 2014.

Needless to say, Tagovailoa's got a long way to go to threaten the all-time mark, however he's only 10 games back of cracking the top 10. With the dominance that Tagovailoa and the Dolphins' offense have shown over the course of this 21-game streak, we may be checking back in on the Miami QB's run next season.
