Quarterback Baker Mayfield expressed frustration and unhappiness after his team's 24-18 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost their third consecutive game on Thursday night. After a 3-1 start, the Bucs are now 3-4 and are second in the NFC South.
Starting quarterback Baker Mayfield cut a frustrated figure in his post-game press conference. Mayfield said, "Losing three in a row sucks. There's no way around that."
Over the last three games, teams have outscored Tampa 60-37. And while the Bucs fought hard and nearly won last night's game with a hail-mary attempt, Mayfield lamented early mistakes that left them in a 24-10 hole. "We shot ourselves in the foot early on with some penalties at some inopportune times," said Mayfield. "That continues to be a problem, so we need to fix that."
However, the experienced quarterback praised his team's effort and determination: "But the good thing about tonight was the fight, the resilience to come back and the determination that we're never out of the fight. We can work with that. We can get these things fixed and move forward."
Mayfield and the Bucs' next assignment is an away trip to the Houston Texans on November 5th.
