The New England Patriots stunned AFC East rivals Buffalo Bills on Sunday to hand head coach Bill Belichick a 300th career win.
Mike Gesicki's late touchdown sealed the win for the Patriots, fitting that his first score of the season came on National Tight End Day.
With the 300th win of his career, Belichick joins an exclusive club of head coaches which only includes Don Shula and George Halas.
Shula's 328 wins - the vast majority of which with the Miami Dolphins - is still the NFL record, 10 more than Halas achieved in his career.
Belichick's entry into the 300-win club comes on the same day as the news of his new multi-year contract with the Patriots was announced.
NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport revealed ahead of kick-off on Sunday that Belichick had signed the new contract ahead of the start of this season.
With his new contract, Belichick can now set his sights on Shula's record of 328 wins, a figure he will be close to approaching with a few successful seasons.
