Niners receiver Aiyuk has been the subject of trade rumours in recent weeks.

San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch has insisted that Brandon Aiyuk is not available for trade as he gave an update on the wide receiver’s contract situation.

Aiyuk is about to enter the final year of his rookie contract and speculation over his future is again percolating, just as it did last summer.

Trade rumours have been circulating, with Mike Tomlin’s Pittsburgh Steelers one name in the mix.

Lynch has now addressed the issue at the annual league meeting, telling ESPN that Tomlin had quizzed him on Aiyuk’s future.

“[Tomlin] is like, 'Bro, what's going on,'" Lynch laughed. "I promise you nothing's going on there. We're actively talking with Brandon trying to figure something out. We have a good history of working with the guys we want to get done to get something done and it takes two sides.

“So, can we do that? We'll see. There's a number of different directions that it could go but we appreciate the heck out of Brandon and who he is as a player, and we want him to be a part of the Niners. We're going to work towards making that a reality."

Aiyuk enjoyed set career-highs form yardage and yards per catch in 2023, catching 75 passes for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 17.9 yards per reception.
