On day one of free agency, Christian Wilkins inked one of the biggest free agent contracts in NFL history.
The 28-year-old signed a four-year deal worth $110 million, with $84.75 million guaranteed.
Wilkins was one of the coveted players on the market. Many analysts had Wilkins as the best defender available.
NFL insiders projected Wilkins' contract to be around $90 million. The Las Vegas Raiders blew those projections away with their monstrous offer.
Wilkins signed, and Raiders fans are excited about his pairing with pass-rusher Maxx Crosby.
On Good Morning Football, NFL reporter Peter Schrager praised the acquisition. He said, "Christian Wilkins is a perfect Raider. Beloved by teammates, the ultimate antagonist to opponents. His game, with Crosby and that motor, is very silver and black. I love this fit.
"Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce spoke about the Mahomes rules. They already had Maxx Crosby, and with Wilkins, now the Raiders have two players ready to implement them."
Schrager continued, "It is a huge move for the Raiders. The AFC West is loaded with so much talent. This is a statement from the Raiders. Wilkins is a huge addition."
Wilkins' former teammate Jalen Ramsey also expressed his excitement about the move. On social media, Ramsey said, "Christian & Maxx are about to go CRAZY this year!"
