Dallas Cowboys: What injury did Trevon Diggs sustain and how long will he be injured for?DAZN
The Dallas Cowboys defense will be missing a star name.

The Dallas Cowboys have had a perfect start to the 2023 season.

Currently 2-0 going into week three, the Cowboys have surprised fans by how dominant they have been in their wins over the New York Giants and New York Jets.

This is in no part due to the exceptional performances put in by the Cowboys defense, but now they will have to adjust after one of the key players, cornerback Trevon Diggs, picked up a serious injury in the form.

What injury did Trevon Diggs sustain?

The Dallas Cowboys cornerback tore his ACL during practice on Thursday while preparing for the team's trip to the Arizona Cardinals.

The signs did not look good for Trevon Diggs as he was seen leaving the practice facility on crutches as per the Dallas Morning News

This revelation seemingly confirmed that Diggs would be missing a huge portion or even the rest of the 2023 season depending on the MRI scan results.

How long will Trevon Diggs be injured for?

Following the MRI scan, it was confirmed that Trevon Diggs will miss the rest of the season as a result of his ACL injury when the Dallas Cowboys issued the following statement via NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo

"A timetable for Diggs' return to play has not been established, but he is currently projected to miss the remainder of the current seasons," the statement read.

Who will replace Trevon Diggs?

The absence of Trevon Diggs will leave a huge hole in the Dallas Cowboys secondary.

Before the injury, the Cowboys had Diggs and Stephon Gilmore on the outside, with DaRon Blond in the slot.

Blond could move into Diggs' position, along with Jourdain Lewis who returned to the team last week after suffering Lisfranc injury in October.

There is also Noah Igbinoghene, Eric Scott Jr. and Nahshon Wright who could fill in the void left by Diggs, while there is also veteran C.J. Goodwin who is currently on the Cowboys practice squad.
