Matthew Stafford will play in another playoff game in Detroit — albeit as a member of the Los Angeles Rams.

Stafford was traded to the Rams ahead of the 2021 season in a deal that saw Jared Goff head the other way. Things immediately went well for Stafford in Southern Cailfornia as the Rams won the Super Bowl in his first season, while Goff was part of a Lions team that went 3-13-1 that year.

Goff and the Lions improved in 2022, just missing out on the playoffs, and in 2023 the quarterback hit career highs in completions and passing percentage as he led Detroit to the team's first division title since 1993.

That sets up tonight's Super Wild Card Weekend showdown that sees Stafford return to the city in which he spent his first 12 NFL seasons, although Lions fans will be forgiven if they don't give their returning son a hero's welcome in their first postseason game since 2016.

"The opportunity happens to be in Detroit, which is fun for me on a personal level," Stafford said. "I know it's going to be rocking there. Haven't had a playoff game there about 30 years or whatever it is. So it'll be a great atmosphere. It'll be a tough task for us, but definitely excited."

Here's everything you need to know ahead of Lions vs. Rams.
