Jared Goff completed a flawless 18-of-18 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Detroit Lions to a 42-29 home win over the Seattle Seahawks at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on Monday Night Football.
And the quarterback's perfect night also included his first career TD reception which came on a trick play as wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown floated a pass into the end zone which Goff hauled in before tossing the ball into the stands in sheer jubilation.
The Lions led throughout the game, taking a 21-7 lead into halftime, though the teams alternated touchdowns in what turned into a track meet of a game during the second half.
With Kenneth Walker III's third touchdown of the game pulling the Seahawks to within 35-27 of the Lions early in the fourth quarter, Detroit responded with Goff returning the favor to St. Brown by finding the wide receiver all alone in the end zone for an eight-yard TD hookup with just over five minutes left to put the home team up 42-27.
Though the Seahawks would record a safety, Geno Smith was picked off in the end zone to essentially end the game despite having a career night of 395 yards passing.
With the victory, the Lions improve to 3-1 and make a statement by handing the Seahawks (3-1) their first loss of the season.
