Once again, the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Cincinnati Bengals proved to be must-see TV as Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow each threw four touchdown passes toward the Ravens scoring a 35-34 home win over the Bengals on Thursday Night Football.
Here, DAZN lists five takeaways from the shootout between the AFC North rivals.
Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow had a season series for the ages
Simply put: Jackson and Burrow bring out the best in each other.
Each star quarterback had four touchdown passes in the Ravens' win over the Bengals on Thursday Night Football. Combined with their first meeting of the season back in Week 5, Jackson and Burrow made NFL history by becoming the first two QBs to each have eight-plus touchdown passes against each other in a season series. Absolutely ridiculous.
So, the season series has Burrow throwing for a combined 820 passing yards and nine touchdowns to edge Jackson's 638 passing yards and eight TDs.
But Jackson leaves the head-to-head season series with the more important stat in tow — two Ravens' victories in a sweep over their AFC North rivals.
Ja'Marr Chase staked his claim to being the best wide receiver in the NFL
Justin Jefferson might have something to say about it, but Ja'Marr Chase could very well be the best wide receiver in the NFL.
His stat line against the Ravens on Thursday night? Eleven catches for 264 yards and three touchdowns on 17 targets in an absolute jaw-dropping display of domination.
He torched the Ravens' secondary at will, whether it was receiving in traffic, scalding 1-on-1 coverage or pulling away from multiple defenders by turning on his jets.
When you say Chase's name, the man has got to be considered arguably the best wideout in the game. Amongst wide receivers, he leads the league in TD receptions, giving that argument more firepower.
It took a fumble to open up the offensive floodgates
Baltimore was trailing 21-7 in the third quarter when a forced fumble and recovery by the Ravens' defense set off an avalanche of offensive fireworks.
It took that turnover for the game to explode into six touchdowns the remainder of the way through.
What a momentum-shifting play.
The tightrope act from Tylan Wallace was incredible
A wild fourth quarter was set off with Wallace taking a pass from Jackson and running the tightrope act down the sideline for an amazing 84-yard touchdown.
It took a review to prove it, but somehow, some way, Wallace managed to stay in bounds.
In a word, spectacular.
Lamar Jackson did his best Stephen Curry impression and it needs to be a poster
In what turned out to being the decisive touchdown pass, Jackson literally threw a jumpshot to Rashod Bateman for a five-yard touchdown pass, leaving his shooting hand out for the Steph Curry follow-through.
This needs to be a poster ASAP.
