An early statement for the Niners.

The San Francisco 49ers looked impressive in routing the New York Jets, 32-19, on the first Monday Night Football game of the 2024-25 NFL season.

Here are five takeaways from the game:

Jordan Mason's career night is a flex for the 49ers' depth

In the place of an injured Christian McCaffrey (inactive with calf injury), Mason made the most of his first career NFL start by rushing for 147 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries, leading the 49ers to a home blasting of the Jets.

Mason's excellent night really highlighted the Niners' depth. Already the defending NFC champion, San Francisco shows that it has enough of the potent pieces back to make another deep run this season. Mason pounding the ground game like McCaffrey usually does demonstrates just how stacked this 49ers squad is.

Brock Purdy and Deebo Samuel have great chemistry

In just a couple of seasons together, Purdy and Samuel have sparked marvelous chemistry. Purdy has a penchant for timing in finding Samuel in just the right motion for the dynamic receiver to break loose and rack up yards after the catch. They did it all last season and picked up where they left off Monday night.

Did the Niners' offensive line make an early statement?

Heading into this season, there were some questions about the Niners' offensive line. Well, paving the way for 147 rushing yards from Mason and 231 passing yards from Purdy, and the O-line offered all the protection needed for this emphatic statement win. Did they silence critics, though? An astounding yes for Week 1.

Aaron Rodgers is still sharp at 40

No, the Jets didn't come close to upsetting the 49ers on the road Monday night. However, a 40-year-old Rodgers, who was playing in his first game since suffering an Achilles tear last year, looked sharp in the loss, completing 13-of-21 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown.

The TD came late in the third quarter when Rodgers noted the flag (for a defensive offside) and went over the top to Allen Lazard for a riveting 36-yard touchdown on the free play. The score marked the four-time NFL MVP's 18th career touchdown off a free play.

Jake Moody is Mr. Money in the Bank

If you tabbed Moody for your Fantasy Football team during Week 1, you won. Moody went 6-for-6 in field goals on the night, including a 53-yarder that he banked in off the upright. A perfect start for a kicker who connected on field goals at an 84 percent clip last season and was selected as a third-round pick of the 49ers in the 2023 NFL Draft.
