Week 14 has six teams on a bye: the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans.

Despite those squads out of action, the week has plenty of intriguing matchups and storylines to follow. Here's what to look out for in Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season.

Can the Green Bay Packers derail the surging Detroit Lions?

There isn’t a team hotter than the Detroit Lions (11-1), winners of 10 straight games, sitting on top of a competitive NFC North division. When these teams met in early November, David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs combined for 138 yards and a touchdown rushing on 28 carries.

Have Jordan Love and the Packers (9-3) learned enough from that loss to go on the road and snap their division rival’s win streak? We’ll find out live from Ford Field in Detroit during this Thursday Night Football matchup.

The Pittsburgh Steelers-Cleveland Browns matchup has some heat all of a sudden

Don’t look now, but there’s actually some genuine interest in this Steelers-Browns’ game at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Sunday.

That’s because the Browns upset the Steelers, 24-19, two weeks ago, powered by Jameis Winston’s 219 yards passing and Nick Chubb’s 59 yards and two touchdowns rushing on 20 carries.

The rematch will reveal whether the Browns (4-8) genuinely have the Steelers’ number or if Pittsburgh (9-3) proves its loss was a one-off thing.

Plenty at stake for this NFC West matchup

The Seattle Seahawks (7-5) recently took over the penthouse of the NFC West but the Arizona Cardinals (6-6) could force a tie for first with a big home win Sunday.

To do that, they’ll need more offense than the six measly points they mustered in a 10-point loss to the Seahawks only two weeks ago.

Can Kyler Murray and the Cardinals exact revenge? The time to show and prove is now.

Can the Los Angeles Chargers find a way to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs?

Week 4 of this season had the Chargers (8-4) jumping out to a 10-0 lead over the Chiefs (11-1) before ultimately losing 17-10 to the back-to-back defending Super Bowl champions.

Manufacturing a victory on the road over the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday Night Football would mark a major confidence booster for the Chargers as they prepare for a playoff push during this stretch run of the season.

Of course, that’s easier said than done against Patrick Mahomes and the dominant Chiefs who have a knack for finding ways to win.

Will the Cowboys get closer to .500? Will it matter?

The Cowboys have vowed to punch their way back into the playoff race and at 5-7, they have long ways to go.

That said, their two-game win streak has been encouraging. They will look to build on this spark of momentum on Monday Night Football, when they’ll host the Cincinnati Bengals (4-8).

Any missteps and the Cowboys will likely bury their small window of hope.

Will the Cowboys inch closer to .500 or suffer yet another setback to their faithful fans’ dismay?

There's always high drama in Dallas.
