The 2024 NFL season is already into the fifth week of play, and that mean some teams are starting to enjoy their byes.
The Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans are all inactive this week, but there is still plenty of action — and narratives — to be had.
Here are five things to look out for in Week 5.
Early football

The NFL London games begin this week with the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings facing off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, giving the large fan base east of the Atlantic Ocean a daytime kick-off to enjoy.
It means an earlier start to the day for fans stateside, but who doesn't love the prospect of watching football with pancakes and scrambled eggs?
Darnold's revenge

In that aforementioned London game, the reigning NFC player of the month gets to take on his old team as Sam Darnold leads the Vikings against the Jets.
For Darnold, this is an opportunity to not only lead a team to 5-0 for this first time in his career, but also to show the Jets what they're missing out on. The 27-year-old was a first-round pick by the Jets in 2018 and he was immediately made a starter at the Meadowlands, but in three seasons he was never able to establish himself on a team that specialized in turmoil.
Stops in Carolina and San Francisco didn't do much for his career either, but Darnold is rejuvenated in Minnesota and the Vikings are flying high.
Diggs faces the Bills

Speaking of revenge games, Stefon Diggs will face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. It'll be the first time Diggs takes on the team that traded him to the Houston Texans in the offseason.
Diggs played the best football of his career with the Bills, earning Pro Bowl nods in each of his four seasons in Western New York and leading the league in total receptions and receiving yards in 2020. He's looking to reach similar highs this season with CJ Stroud as his quarterback, and a big game against the Bills would be a great way towards achieving that goal.
Desperate Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-4 and already running out of time to salvage their season.
Head coach Doug Pederson has had to dodge questions about his job security amid the woeful start to the campaign, and if the Jags can't manage a victory over the Indianapolis Colts then the questions will surely become louder and more frequent.
NFC South battle

It's never too early to speculate on divisional races, and Thursday's Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons game provide an early glimpse into the battle for supremacy in the NFC South.
Baker Mayfield had a monster game last week in leading the Bucs to a 33-16 victory over the Eagles, and now he looks to guide his team to a 4-1 start with a win against the Falcons.
