What did J.J McCarthy say at his combine press conference?

Quarterback prospect J.J McCarthy has responded to concerns over his college stats. McCarthy spoke to the media today at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Analysts, draft pundits and fans have concerns over McCarthy's transition into the NFL. The 21-year-old led the Michigan Wolverines to the 2023 National Championship, but many still doubt McCarthy's ability.

When asked about his college stats and how they compare to his fellow prospects, McCarthy said, "The only stat I cared about was W's, and we did pretty good in that category."

Describing himself, McCarthy said, "I'm a tough, gritty guy. I only care about winning. I love this game, and I love my teammates. My mentality is to do the best I can in each play."

Furthermore, McCarthy confirmed he had met with the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Commanders, New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, and Chicago Bears.

Born and raised in Illinois, McCarthy said this about the Bears: "It would be a dream come true. Growing up and going to the games, it'd be special."

McCarthy will participate in Saturday's throwing drills, but he will skip the physical tests due to a tight hamstring.
