'Big Red' is one of the best coaches in NFL history.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is one of the best in the business, and has been for some time.

The 65-year-old from Los Angeles first entered the NFL as a coach in 1992, and is hoping to end his 31st season in the league by winning a Super Bowl.

DAZN takes a look at Reid's coaching career to date.

Coaching career

  • Green Bay Packers - Assistant offensive line & tight ends coach (1992-1996)
  • Green Bay Packers - Quarterbacks coach & assistant head coach (1992-1996)
  • Philadelphia Eagles - Head coach (1999-2012)
  • Kansas City Chiefs - Head coach (2013-Present)

As a coach in the NFL, Reid has only been with three different franchises.

Working his way up through the ranks at the Green Bay Packers, Reid's first head coaching job came with the Philadelphia Eagles.

And 13 successful years in Pennsylvania, Reid took up a new challenge with the Chiefs who have since reached new heights.

What is his coaching record?

Reid has an incredibly impressive 283–160–1 record as a head coach, winning roughly 64% of his games in the regular and postseason combined.

With Reid as head coach, teams have won their division on 14 of 25 seasons - finishing second on seven of the other seasons.

Eight of those 14 division-winning seasons have come in a row with the Chiefs, a streak they continued this campaign.

Only three seasons as a head coach has a Reid team finished with a below .500 record - all with the Eagles.

Reid remains the only head coach in NFL history to win 100 games with two different franchises, and is still the winningest coach in both teams' history.

How many Super Bowls has he won?

At the time of writing, Reid has won two Super Bowls as a head coach - both with the Chiefs.

Reid has also tasted defeat twice in the Super Bowl, once with the Eagles in 2004 and the other with the Chiefs three years ago.

Successes in the 2019 and 2022 seasons may be matched in a week's time as Kansas City face the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
