Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been ruled out of the AFC West side's Week 7 game against the Chicago Bears.
Garoppolo exited their Week 6 game against the New England Patriots with a back injury and was taken to hospital to discover the full extent of the injury.
And on Thursday the offseason acquisition from the San Francisco 49ers was ruled out of their trip to Soldier Field in Week 7 to face the Bears with the same injury.
Garoppolo's absense leaves Las Vegas with a decision to make about who their starter is this weekend.
Who are the back-ups in Las Vegas?
Following Garoppolo's departure in Week 6, veteran quarterback Bryan Hoyer took over for the Raiders.
The 38-year-old also joined the Raiders this offseason after three seasons with the Patriots, but is not the only other quarterback to have featured for Las Vegas in 2023.
Rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell started their Week 4 loss to the Chargers and will now compete with Hoyer for the starting role this weekend.
Hoyer completed six of 10 passes after coming on in Week 6's win over the Patriots, throwing for over 100 years.
