The most exciting time of any NFL season has arrived, the playoffs!

Starting this weekend with the Wild Card round, 12 teams will battle it out for a place in the Divisional matchups and take a step closer to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

Some may notice that the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions will not be taking to the field this weekend, and this is because both teams secured the number one seeds in the AFC and NFC respectively which gives them a bye into the second round of the 2025 playoffs.

Here is DAZN News' playoff breakdown and how things stand ahead of Wild Card weekend.

Current NFL playoff bracket

Seven teams from each conference have qualified for the playoffs. The top two seeds in each conference get a bye into the Divisional Round. The other 12 teams enter the fray this weekend. Here is how the seedings currently stand:

AFC

  1. Kansas City Chiefs 15-2 (AFC West winner)
  2. Buffalo Bills 13-4 (AFC East winner)
  3. Baltimore Ravens 12-5 (AFC North winner)
  4. Houston Texans 10-7 (AFC South winner)
  5. Los Angeles Chargers 11-6 (Wild card)
  6. Pittsburgh Steelers 10-7 (Wild card)
  7. Denver Broncos 10-7 (Wild card)

NFC

  1. Detroit Lions 15-2 (NFC North winner)
  2. Philadelphia Eagles 14-3 (NFC East winner)
  3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-7 (NFC South)
  4. Los Angeles Rams 10-7 (NFC West)
  5. Minnesota Vikings 14-3 (Wild card)
  6. Washington Commanders 12-5 (Wild card)
  7. Green Bay Packers 11-6 (Wild card)

Wild Card Weekend schedule

The 12 teams involved in Wild Card Weekend will have their matches determined by seeding. The highest remaining seeds in each conference will play the lowest remaining seeds. The other games will then fit in between that. For example, the second-seed Buffalo Bills will host the seventh-seed Denver Broncos.
