Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has revealed that negotiations with Odell Beckham Jr are ‘ongoing’ after the free agent wide receiver visited the team last week.

Speaking at the annual league meeting, McDaniel said that the visit went ‘great’ as he gave an update on the situation regarding the 31-year-old.

“We did make him an offer, and business takes time, especially with players such as Odell, who’s had a phenomenal career, still has really good football in front of him and has options,” McDaniel told the Miami Herald. “So, I think those conversations will be ongoing. We’ll see where they go.”

“I don’t live in the world of crystal balling and I do stay in my lane as a coach,” McDaniel added. “I’m definitely ready to coach him if we can come to an agreement and I think both sides are trying to work towards that. We’ll see what happens.”

Beckham entered free agency earlier this month after a one-year spell with the Baltimore Ravens which saw him make 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns.

After being selected with the twelfth overall pick by the New York Giants in the 2014 draft, Beckham has had stints at the Browns and Rams. He suffered a torn ACL in the Rams’ Super Bowl LVI win that forced him to miss the 2022 season before he returned with the Ravens last year.
