Superstar wide receiver Mike Evans has decided on his future. The 30-year-old has inked a new two-year extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tampa acquired Evans in the 2014 NFL Draft. The Texas A&M product has played his whole career in Tampa and won Super Bowl 55 with the Bucs.
Evans' existing contract was due to end, and rumours suggested he wanted to leave Tampa and test free agency.
However, Evans' agent said, "Mike just called me last night and said I want to be a Buc for Life. Darren Jones and I have worked hard to get this deal done."
This move now takes Evans off the market. He will play in Tampa for the next two seasons. The two-year deal is worth $52 million.
Evans' extension is the first big domino to fall ahead of free agency. The news may also help Tampa re-sign quarterback Baker Mayfield.
