Monday Night Football: New York Jets use spectacular catch and punt return TD to defeat Buffalo Bills in Overtime, 22-16DAZN
What a game! But a costly one for the Jets who lost Aaron Rodgers on their opening drive.

Aaron Rodgers' New York Jets regular season debut lasted four snaps, before the star quarterback was injured while being sacked and carted off the field with a believed ankle injury.

But that didn't stop Gang Green from delivering heroics in the form of a game-tying, juggling touchdown catch from Garrett Wilson late in the fourth quarter followed by a thrilling 65-yard punt return touchdown from rookie Xavier Gipson to lead the Jets to a memorable 22-16 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.

With Rodgers out of the game from the first quarter, backup Zach Wilson took over and showed poise late in successfully rallying the Jets at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Jets opened the fourth quarter trailing, 13-6, when Wilson manufactured an eight-play, 57-yard drive that ended in a spectacular catch for the ages by wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who tipped the ball to himself in the end zone for a riveting touchdown.

That and the extra point that followed tied it up at 13 points apiece, before the Jets' defense got the ball right back with a forced fumble.

They'd use that extra possession to take the lead with just under two minutes remaining on a 30-yard field goal to make it 16-13, though Josh Allen and the Bills would build a late drive for Tyler Bass to rattle in a 50-yard field goal that tied the game at 16-16 with two seconds left, sending the game into overtime.

Though Allen and Stefon Diggs worked their magic toward the star wideout finishing with 10 receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown, they came up empty on a crucial third down pass attempt in overtime and the Bills were forced to punt it.

When they did, rookie wide receiver Gipson took the punt, got a couple of key blocks and ran it back 65 yards to punch the 22-16 OT victory for the Jets.

The Jets were left deflated by Rodgers' injury, but their defense certainly picked them up by the tune of three interceptions (all by safety Jordan Whitehead) and that forced fumble late in the fourth quarter.
