In a game that's expected to see many absences, a couple of high-profile players could still see some playing time.

The New England Patriots host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday on the final day of of the regular season, and the Pats (3-13) have known that they will not play past this weekend for quite some time.

But even with the possibility of locking up the No. 1 spot in the upcoming NFL draft, New England head coach Jerod Mayo says quarterback Drake Maye will start in the game barring any injuries.

"Drake is our starting quarterback. If he's healthy and ready to go, as we go through this week of practice, then he'll play," Mayo said Wednesday. "He's a competitor, he wants to play and he's still developing. He'll be ready to go."

Maye and the Patriots will face a Bills (13-1) team locked into the No. 2 seed in the AFC, meaning there's little incentive for Buffalo to play their starters. However, Bills starting QB and NFL MVP contender Josh Allen will still likely take some snaps to ensure his consecutive start streak stays intact.
