Is there a player in the NFL who means more to his squad than Lamar Jackson?
The presumptive MVP passed for 152 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 100 yards and another two TDs to lead the top-seeded Ravens to a 34-10 drubbing of the Houston Texans in their AFC Divisional Playoff game from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday.
The game was knotted 10-10 at halftime, but Jackson made sure to change that as the star quarterback led the way for 24 Ravens' unanswered points during the second half.
Jackson's second-half brilliance began early in the third quarter when he punched in a dazzling 15-yard touchdown rush right up the middle.
The Ravens' next scoring drive, early in the fourth quarter, executed 12 plays for 93 yards and chewed up over seven minutes, before Jackson floated a jump ball for Isaiah Likely toward a 15-yard TD reception.
Their third consecutive scoring drive of the second half was capped by an eight-yard touchdown rush for Jackson, who was so elated after the score that he kept running into the tunnel.
As impressive as Jackson was, the Ravens' defense was equally dominant.
The only touchdown Baltimore's defense allowed came on a 67-yard punt return TD from Steven Sims during the second quarter. Otherwise, the Ravens' defense limited C.J. Stroud to 175 yards passing. The Ravens' defense also stifled the Texans' rushing game to only 38 yards on the ground.
With the dominant victory, the Ravens advance to the AFC Championship game, awaiting the winner of Sunday night's Buffalo Bills-Kansas City Chiefs' game.
